LSU Baseball 2023 Season

Thatcher Hurd got the start and he's perfect through 3 on 46 pitches.

 

SC solo home run to lead off the fifth, Hurd was perfect until then. 2-1 Tigers

 

Hurd gives up a bullet single right after the HR, but settles down and gets the next 3, still 2-1 going to the bottom of the 5th.

 

Back-to-back-to-back singles (Joubert, Dugas, Crews), two bases loaded walks, back-to-back sac flies by Morgan and Travinski, single by Beloso, hit by pitch. Tigers now lead 6-1 and have gone around the order in the bottom of the 5th. SC making its second pitching change of the inning. Pop out ends the inning, but Tigers now up 5.

 

Hurd walks in a run and he's done. Bases loaded with one out and he's at 100 pitches. Sam Dutton is the new pitcher.

 

Dutton walks in another run and he gets the hook. Nate Ackenhausen will give it a shot. 6-3 Tigers

 

He scared me (first two pitches were right under the hitter's chin), but Ackenhausen gets out of the inning with no further damage. Going to bottom 6, up 6-3.

 

RBI singles for Morgan and Travinski and its 8-3 after six

 

RBI singles for Crews and White but we leave the bases loaded with one out. 10-3 through seven.
