It's amazing how JJ is getting elite players to transfer in from good programs and then to pull a MLB pitching coach from a team sitting in first place is unheard of. I have no clue how he does it, but he just needs to keep up the good work!
Got another....Thatcher Hurd, RHP from UCLA. Posted a 1.06 ERA in 9 appearances as a freshman, but a back injury ended his season early.
Notice Mike Papierski is getting starts for the Cincinnati Reds these days. That will end when Tyler Stephenson comes off the DL, but good to see another Tiger up in The Show.
Signee Paxton Kling, a projected 2nd round pick, has withdrawn his name from the MLB Draft. He's coming to BR. Outfielder, Player of the Year in Pennsylvania this year. Said on Twitter he's coming to compete for a national championship.
NIL could be a difference maker in the tug of war between the colleges & MLB. Continue your education, get the benefits of a 1st class training and nutrition center, access to 1st class puntang + a lot more than pocket change. The draft is this Sun thru Tues.so lets keep our fingers crossed. Coach JJ signed the # 1 class in the country, but that will mean little if the MLB teams pick it apart like wolves. CPM often signed great classes only to have them decimated by the draft.
Not to mention the "A" system sucks. Remember the movie "Major League" with Charlie Sheen, a lot like that. Shitty buses, shitty club houses and shitty pay. In college they will be riding in style and staying in nice hotels.
I'm really interested to see how many skip college because NIL has totally changed the ballgame. A player could potentially make more in college than in the pros, which seems absurd but is the reality that we deal with right now!
