i personally dont care....id like to have the band at all games, but that cant happen. if they were staying home for no good reason...then...that'd be a shame...but this is a perfectly good reason. i love the golden band, but thats not why i go to the games. ill have just as much fun.
Well, if you have enough time to organize it, why not solicit fans at the stadium this Saturday? I mean, get a dollar each from half the fans and you got $45,000 plus!
Yeah I was considering doing it, but I would need to hire a bodyguard cause someone would kill me and take the money. Well, I figured I would give it a shot on here a see what kind of response I could get. I disagree eleven, if the band were not at the games, fan/team morale wouldn't last a quarter. Death Valley would suddenly become vanilla, like Georgia Tech fans at the Peach Bowl. I really think it is embarrasing that we can't afford to have our band at a nationally televised game. That reflects negatively on our school and program.
How much to just send the Golden Girls... LSUHotdog, set up the account and publish the information. I will bet that lots of people will send in what they can. I will. Instead of collecting at the game, hand out flyers with the information of how to make a donation and why. I will bet that the Tiger faithful will step up. Geaux Tigers
I'm at a loss From an outsider, kind of. LSU has a great band, and bands do lend a small amount to atmosphere but come on. If the team is rocking, so is the band...if the team stinks the band is twiddling their collective thumb. IT STARTS WITH THE TEAM. What I hear from LSU fans...can't win without the band, can't win in the daytime(hear this A LOT), can't win with injury (though this one i consider reasonable, somewhat). Great teams don't need the stars to align, they make them align. I am not trying to talk bad about tiger fans. I would call out Bama fans that I heard this from. Your making excuses before the game is even played. Bama could have excuses galore this year, some are ripley's beleive it or not material, because of the off season fiasco. Yet the fans make no excuses. Winners win. No matter who, what, when, why, where, how(knew that would come in handy one day), and with what background music. Remember 97-88-planar-juntion-whirlwind or whatever that play was. They just make it happen, They just win. Let me say that as an issue of having the band for TV publicity or just becuase they rock, work hard(as has been noted) and deserve to be there is a sound argument. Sometimes you just have to trust the leaders to lead though. Someone has to make the tough decisions. If yall set up an account I will gladly toss a 20 in.
What the hell are you talking about? Nobody here is saying anything about not being able to win without the band. Nobody is talking about excuses. Did you paste this sermon into the wrong thread? We're saying that we want to hear our fight songs on national TV! Wouldn't you?
You obviously do not understand the importance of LSU's band as it pertains to our teams success. See you have it exactly the opposite, when our teams rocks, our band rocks, and when our team stinks, we still rock. We're a big variable in how much the fans, and team, are in the game. By the way, I don't think anyone is making excuses for the team; I don't follow your logic at all. All I want is our school to represent and have every advantage possible while away form home. Sorry there was a misunderstanding.
