We still have to get past a tough LSU team and go to AU...So title hopes are still slim. BUT, USC still has some tough games and I see Va Tech getting beat soon.... Bama can do it. The Defense has to be there for us. We pride ourselves on D. In the last 4 games we have only allowed 19 points so we need to keep that up and keep the rest of our games low-scoring.
Everyone keeps saying that LSU-Bama is the game for the SEC West... That really is only true in one situation. If LSU win, it is the game for the West. If Bama wins (and Auburn beats UGA), then the Iron Bowl is the game for the West.
IF LSU wins it, the Ole Miss game becomes a HUGE worry for me, b/c they play REALLY well at home, and that is the ultimate trap situation... UGA's win over Auburn will end a lot of the talks
I don't get much 'easier' than how I put it. Nothng harsh there, just being realistic. Was UGA or was UGA not thinking NC before today? And Bama's NC dreams would be much more reasonable had they played the two toughest teams on their list, you can't deny that. Where's the problem? P.S. AU bitch-slaps the Pups...count on it. UGA's D-Line is weak, Irons will steamroll them.
Ole Miss is a dangerous team. If you let them stay in the ballgame, they may upset anyone. Their D is pretty damn good. They impressed me but they lack depth. That's why AU beat them like they did. They wore down the D and that trick play with Courtney Taylor did them in. That was nice. Back on topic...They have one of the best linebackers in the nation in Willis. He has that club on his had, yet he still leads the SEC in tackles...by a lot!
The LSU-Bama game isn't exactly for the West unless LSU wins. Then LSU goes to Atlanta. But if Bama wins and AU falls to UGA that same day, then Bama wins the West. I see AU losing to UGA with Shockley back so the LSU-Bama game, to me, is for Atlanta. As for the comment that Bama hasn't played anybody yet, come on. I know that UF and UT are down this year but LSU has played them both as well. Bama beat both, UF convincingly. LSU lost to UT and struggled with UF. I thought that the Arizona State game was a big win but now we see that ASU isn't very good. LSU did get a big win over AU.
I just don't see AU beating UGA. AU has done nothing but find ways to lose the big games this year. They also haven't beaten a team that is in the top 50, probably 65 if they ranked that high. UGA's d-line isn't weak, I don't know where you got that. No part of their defense is weak. UGA will get Shockley back and that will be the difference. I think AU will keep it close but UGA is at home, Cox will make rookie mistakes and the dawgs will get it done. As for UGA's NC dreams, they'd still be alive today if Shockley hadn't gone down, plain and simple. We still have Brodie so we're still alive.
From watching the UF game today. Didn't see the entire game, but from what I did see, their front 4 couldn't get any pressure. Going against UF's crappy O-line, I surmised that UGA is lacking upfront. We pushed UF's O-line around all day long like they weren't even there.
