In LSU football history, LSU has only beat Auburn 6 times @ Auburn...for almost 40 years now, LSU has only won once by more than 5 points @ Auburn (1998) ... and LSU has never won @ Auburn by more than two TDs...and LSU has never beat an Auburn team that finished with a winning record by more than 8 points at Auburn

    1908 - W 10-2 (a 10-0 LSU team by 8 over a 6-1 Auburn team)

    1970 - W 17-9 (a 9-3 LSU team by 8 over a 9-2 Auburn team)

    1973 - W 20-6 (a 9-3 LSU team by 14 over a 6-6 Auburn team)

    1996 - W 19-15 (a 10-2 LSU team by 4 over an 8-4 Auburn team)

    1998 - W 31-19 (a 4-7 LSU team by 12 over a 3-8 Auburn team)

    2008 - W 26-21 (an 8-5 LSU team by 5 over a 5-7 Auburn team)

    ____________________________

Other than LSU's 6 victories @ Auburn, LSU has only beat Auburn 4 other times in the state of Alabama, never by more than 13 points...

    Montgomery, AL

    1926 - W 10-0 (a 6-3 LSU team by 10 over a 5-4 Auburn team)

    1927 - W 9-0 (a 4-4-1 LSU team by 9 over a 0-7-2 Auburn team)

    Birmingham, AL

    1936 - W 19-6 (a 9-1-1 LSU team by 13 over a 7-2-2 Auburn team)

    1940 - W 21-13 (a 6-4 LSU team by 8 over a 6-4-1 Auburn team)

Yes, please. I know that logically we are a superior team; there's always something that makes me nervous when we play @ Auburn. Now I know what that is...

If their QB was Tony Franklin, that might pass for a year.

    Cubs?

So in the last 72 years (since 1940), LSU has only beat Auburn 5 times in the state of Alabama...that is nuts

I was there in '98 when we moved up to #6 in the polls after the win. Has a team ever been ranked in the top 6 three weeks into the season and finished 4-7? Other than us that year?

Since I had a friend at LSU originally from the Auburn area, he showed us the real deal on the Plains by having us stay with his friends in the student trailer park. I thought that was the craziest thing at the time, a whole bunch of students living in a trailer park.
