Agreed. The crowd is going to be huge for the Tigers this season. Now that we're down to a "15 game" season, the home wins are musts, and a few road wins are gravy. LSU got the gravy started tonight, but Tennessee is a surprise team in the east this season... Tonight, 18689 fans pay to watch Arkansas play the Tigers. How many will there be in PMAC on Saturday?
Re: Tigers Win!!!! The only thing I can say is that the Tigers had to rely on Tas' offense tonight, as the mainstays Glen and D.Mitch had a hard time getting untracked, and so Tas' was looking to score. Tas missed his first three shots and then made like 8 of 9, mostly in the second half. Overall the Tigers shot poorly but outrebounded and defended Arkansas, despite Arkansas starting a much taller lineup. Tas was more aggressive on offense, so only had one assist. Only had one turnover, tho', which had been a problem of his lately. I don't mind Tas' having less assists if he can put these kind of points up. Especially if Darrell is cold, like he was tonight. I think that Tas' needs to average between 15-17 points a game instead of 11+ for the Tigers to have a lot of success this season.
Re: Tigers Win!!!! If for no other reasons that it will give us one more option and make it that much harder for the D....
Nice win by the Tiger. Tas is the man tonite. Looking for many good games from this frosh. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Re: Tigers Win!!!! not sure what "untracked" is (is that like being "off the wagon"?), but i think they better get used to it. really seems obvious to this fan that knows little about basketball, that opponents will double GD and put a taller G on DM (its almost hard not to). TT and TM will be depended on in sec play. even with good play from them, it'll be tough to beat a good team that can hit shots without some 3s from DM. very impressed with the tigers tonight. win in the toughest bball venue in the sec without good games from DM and GD, against a taller and more experienced team. anyone hear if the hogs were playing zone D much? i'd sure think thats the way to go. WV and UH used it to get back in the games if i remember correctly.
Re: Tigers Win!!!! Yes, that was a great win. According to my dad who saw him play, Tas was unbelievable in high school. So I think he's gonna be a big scoring threat for the remainder of the season. And Arkansas is one of the hardest places to play anywhere. When Nolan was there and they were rolling, it was the toughest place to play in the nation. No place was like that place...not Duke...not Kentucky...I used to get nervous just listening on the radio. They really do have great fans. Anyway, Go Tigers.
Re: Tigers Win!!!! Yeah but I love me some Duke fans! They aren't scared to act crazy and dress up and such. Everyone is bouncing, they got their cheers...I would LOVE to play there! I dont really like Duke but I love their fans!
Re: Tigers Win!!!! Oh, Duke is awesome. I remember when LSU played them in the Shaq-era how hard it was for people to get tickets. They have their own unique thing going on there. And they are super-loud indeed. And you know, as much as I would like to dislike Duke, Coach K runs such a classy program that I just can't. When Arkansas is rolling, their fans get the "loudest" award easy to me. And they usually pack em' in that arena. When I was little and Dale had it rolling at LSU, the PMAC was raucous. We had the Deaf Dome Meter rocking. Dick Vitale loved going to LSU. Oh...the memories.
Re: Tigers Win!!!! different arena for most of Nolan's time. much louder back in the day even though less seats. still rowdy.
Re: Tigers Win!!!! 12pts and 10 boards... yeah Coach Stan, your center did one helluva job :thumbidn't get a chance to see this game (well, listen to it rather) since I had to work, but a great win for the Tigers!
