LSU and Texas may very well be fighting for Herman

So you will to risk LSU future on a 3-21 conference record? Not hating on CEO. He is a local boy but he was a bad HC.

 

His teams got worse every year after 3 years. If it was any other coach had that record you guys would be saying no way in hell.

Some guy are just meant to be on a coaching staff and CEO is one. Some guys just aren't HC material . Nothing wrong with that but people need to see the difference.

 

I think he is a better bet then kiffen. If I had a choice I'm still choosing Herman (too good to pass up). I think I would pick him over pertrino, fisher, and some of the other guys too. I all depends how it all works out. Lets face it we are really freaking early in the season. None of these guys are doing anything until Dec or Jan at the earliest so there is way to much time to put all your eggs on basket. We have someone in our house, we might as well let him win the job.

If O beats the gumps and ole piss I would say you have to give him a shot. (assuming he doesn't lose every other game)

 

He is still considered one of the best recruiters in college football. period. Hell we have him on staff to mainly do that recruit.

I stand by that his recruiting was not the issue. I will admit his record makes me uneasy. I still think you consider this an interview period. You have to admit its better than no one or some no name b/c choice 1, 2, and 3 said no thanks.

 

Still no love for Petersen? Or is everyone just writing it off as impossible (probably is unfortunately).

 

I think if LSU really wanted Herman, or any coach of their choice, the powers that be would cut the check that was needed to get their guy. Is LSU willing to throw out the needed cash is the question. If bringing Championships back to LSU is the desire, then I would have to believe they would.

 

I think this is a definite impossibility. He has UW rolling and in perfect position to win the PAC.

 

So 8 games is an interview period? Why not Derrick Mason at Vanderbilt? He has a 2-15 SEC record . A lot harder to win at Vandy than Ole Miss.

My point is Coach O didn't build this team or USC team. We have seen what he does when he does build a team. Being from South LA only gets you so far IMO.

ecruiting is his biggest asset. It's why Houston Nutt had success there after they ran him off. But that was his doing with the sanctions and all.

USC sure wishes they had kept him. He proved he could coach. He's more than proven as a recruiter. He's learned a d has shown it on the field. Like a wise woman named Vball told me once the road is littered with more failed so called proven head coaches than up and comers.

Coach O is neither. This hire will decide allevas fate. I don't envy him if Herman is unavailable.

 

He is a good motivator and a good interim Coach, I wouldn't hire him for the full time job. Just my opinion. We just disagree.
