If you think pointing out an obvious shortcoming in our special teams play is nitpicking then knock yourself out.
You can point all the deficiencies that you want but I don't see how average punting will give BAMA a decisive edge unless you elaborate.
Bama P-------------------> .............<---------------LSU P .................Bama P--------------------> ...............................<--------------LSU P ....................................Bama FG! Get it?! :lol:
All of this over 1 1/2 sacks per game??? You really think that number is the one that will matter??? There are more than a few ways that a pass rush gets slowed down.
There's lots of reasons to be excited about LSUs chances in this game. Punting is not one of them. If you don't think punting is important in a game like this, I don't know what to tell you. This game SHOULD be a low scoring affair. Field position is very important in this kind of game. Of course, they have their own field position swapper in Arenas, so maybe the shanks out of bounds can work in our favor.:huh:
Too lazy to look it up but I think we are something like 10-3 the last 13 games over there. Not that it will matter in this game but we usually play pretty good in bama.
I'm not about to guess a score on this one, but I feel good about the swagger our Tigers are developing. We're improving, and frankly, I don't think Bama is at this point--they are leveling off. We can also all hope that Saban's trend of having teams that are flat after a bye week will continue. It's possible that he'll have his team strung too tightly for this one, whereas Les is likely to Let 'er rip!
Well, I'm thinking 24 to 13 Bama. Actually before last year it didn't matter where this game was played, LSU had the best team, thus your winning streak, home and away. Last year we closed the gap. This year I think were running ahead in a few more areas. Never the less its going to be close as even your predictions indicate. But we are home , with this Bama team home will matter. Roll Tide!!!
I am usually a fair minded person, and I am not saying that LSU will not win this game, but I will be VERY SUPRISE if LSU scored 20 points on the #2 overall defense in the nation. Very low scoring game. LSU 13 Ala 17 Roll Tide
Well, if you go back 13 contests at Bama...we're talking 25 years. That puts us in the mid 80s...and yes, we had the better team a couple of times during the Arnsparger years, and at the end of Coach Bryant's tenure. But that streak also includes the 90s, which encompass the worst decade ever for LSU football, and Bama won the last of it's 47 NCs. Also, Bama was a fixture in the SECCG with UF. - That said, your theory of LSU having the better team during that stretch doesn't hold water. And if you wanna go back further than that, it's a statistical fact that LSU plays Bama better AT Bama than at Tiger Stadium.
