I'm going out of town for the day or you could join me. Several of the hotels usually offer a nice thanksgiving meal or buffet because they have a lot of folks from out of town. I have gone to the Picadilly Cafeteria on Essen or on Florida, when finding myself a Thanksgiving orphan. They do a really nice Thanksgiving day meal with lots of side dish selections. I think the two riverboat casinos will have thanksgiving buffets.
When my Cajun grandparents got too old to host Thanksgiving dinners, we would sometimes find ourselves at Piccadilly with a whole bunch of us. Good times--but I haven't been in years.
Now, your Yankee-ness is showing. Call it cornbread dressing, not stuffing, and you'll sound like a true Louisianian, unless you have a Yankee accent!
He got that from me. I actually differentiate. When it goes in the bird, I call it stuffing, when prepared separately, it's dressing. I was talking about the stuffing in our turduchen.
Thanks for saving my butt Kyle. But she's right about my northern-ness. I would probably call it stuffing either way. But you are right how you differentiated the 2. Stacey....everyone knows northerners don't have accents. Only southerners do. Sheesh!
