This one is new to the bunch, but "The Saints Are Coming" by Greenday and U2, played in the dome on the night the dome re-opened after Katrina was incredible. And I HATE with a purple passion U2--but that song's on my iPod.
Agreed, that one always puts me in a good mood. It's one of those songs that releases those endorphins (or whatever) in my body. There are only a few songs that pretty much always do that for me (Blue Sky by The Allman Brothers and I've Got a Feeling by The Beatles are a couple of others).
No shyt?!?! I grew up neighbors with Steve Riley. Wayne Toups > Steve Riley but when you talk about French music, S Riley is up there too. red, A+ on the Diggy Liggy Lo. Had forgotten about that one.
My mom knew Wayne since he was a pipsqueak. Her and my Dad were dancing to his music and they were the only people in the damn club. Of course that was long before he blew up and made the "big time". She was pretty traditional when it came to her cajun music and sort of became put off by some of the stuff he did especially when most of his $$ was going through his nostrils. She LOVED Steve Riley, I am pretty sure she had all his CD's and I'm pretty sure I have them now that she is dancing in the sky. I will have to check. I did promise her I would play them so I guess it is about time I break them out.
