some people make an incredibly idiotic life choice by getting marriage. should we outlaw marriage?

    /sarcasm

btw, in my life i have both smoked and not smoked. for me, i would prefer not to be around smoke. but i can understand the concept of letting businesses run themselves as they see fit on this subject. i still out of habit ask for non-smoking even in places that have all non-smoking establishments.

while i agree it's retarded i don't think the state or gov should have a say in the matter. i have asthma and i'm on two inhalers but i've never complained about smokers unless their in my house lighting one up or sitting next to me in a car. if they roll their window down it's not a big deal.

if you're a smoker stop by olol hospital and visit a few patient's rooms on the 6th floor. you may quit before the elevator hits the 1st floor.

I'm sorry I have to disagree, limiting an owner here by not allowing patrons to smoke inside their facility is not proof of limiting the free market in my opinion. Please tell me how it limits these owners from selling cigarettes to their patrons and them going outside to smoke. I just don't see that. You are limiting an area where patrons can partake in a certain activity but in no means limits them from selling the product or the patrons from using those products in a relatively close place. It does not limit business in any way and therefore in my opinion it does not limit the free market.

what? do you not see how someone losing business or possibly going under due to restrictions inhibits the market? its about as simple a model as I can explain. the product is irrelevant. its the service in question which entails the environment here.

you're overthinking and missing the obvious. i dont know how it can be any clearer. theres nothing to prove or explain. its like explaining the alphabet.

The things you say about smoking is true but, it is one more of "our choices" gone! How about drinking? It's OK to go to the casino, spend tons of money & drink free until you can't walk! Do they tell you just how many drinks you can have? Do they worry about whether you have a designated driver? Do they know just how many drinks you can take before you're drunk? Of course not! All of that is OK! Because the more you drink, the more you spend..... Has there ever been a study showing just how many wrecks have occurred due to drinking from people after having left the casino? I wonder if people would think differently if they took away their alcohol?

New Hampshire? They have some of the most restrictive rural zoning in the country. A feller ain't allowed to put a double-wide on his own property. He can't have an cowboy mailbox. County commissioners get upset about his scrap iron pile, his hogs, and his shop made out of an old shipping container.
