Lose to Bama and Still Make the Playoff

    You never play to lose, but losing to Bama and winning out could possibly lead to an easier route to the playoff.
    1. LSU wins out except Bama.
    2. Bama goes to the SEC CG and beats Georgia.
    3. Bama is 13-0, LSU 11-1, Georgia 11-2.
    Do you take LSU over Georgia?
    If LSU were to lose to Georgia and beat Bama, they would have to beat Georgia a second time in the SECCG. That to me is a much more difficult path, though it pretty much guarantees a birth. The other scenario requires that one of the other P5 slips up. I could also see LSU not getting the Bama benefit of the doubt in getting into the playoff without a conference championship.

    Exact same situation I played out in my head just yesterday, and the answer is a resounding yes LSU makes it over Georgia.

    There is no way Georgia would be ranked ahead of LSU after that second loss.
