can i ask some serious questions without being labeled a "racist?" ok, good, why when i am watching the news that 95% of the people getting rescued are black?? why is that?? i mean, did they not get the warning to get the hell out of n.o. two days before the hurricane?? then, on the same news show two minutes later, they are also the ones breaking in a damn foot locker for shoes and jerseys. dont label me a racist, because i am far from it..i just want an answer...most people in this country are scared to ask questions like this, but for Gods sakes i dont care anymore.....i want some damn answers....these people that are doing this stuff are the low lifes of new orleans and need to be dealt with SEVERELY...they are embarrassing our state and giving a horrible image to the african american race.
I'd like to think it's a function of demographics and socioeconomic factors and a lot of other things. I have similar questions about the looters...
I DIDN'T SAY THAT! I'm actually color blind. I don't view these people in black and white. Or wait, nevermind, I'm confusing myself.:thumb:
actually i saw it was 100% black with maybe a half-breed in there somewhere. I think its like all inner-city america where its predominantly black. surely you noticed before today?
ALL National Guard units are required to qualify with weapons. Even support. they know how to fire a weapon trust me. This isn't the battle of the buldge here. The looters are armed but not with Tanks and artillary.
Some of the people who decided to stay were just foolish. But most of the people who stayed were people who don't own cars. The evacuation plan just didn't provide a way for pedestrians to get out. There wasn't enough time apparently. Planners thought that sheltering was the way to go with these people. Now they know it didn't work. New Orleans is a predominantly black city. Almost all of the low-income folks without cars are black. It's just the way it is. It ain't racism, its the situation. You don't see as many white folks in that no-transportation situation in New Orleans because they were mostly never there to begin with.
Was there a gap in the efforts to get people to the SuperDome or other shelters if they wanted to go? It just seems like (other than those that couldn't go) these are people that CHOSE NOT TO SEEK HELP.
exactly. they all go to the same basic training together with the RA and reserves, etc. (reg army). they qualify with the same weapons.
