Serious offenders should be left to drown. It will help offset the cost of rebuilding. JMHO

Sad to hear that they got wounded, glad to hear they killed the POS that shot at them. These people don't have emotions. They are trash.

Yep, the military presence on the streets had best ramp up fast. It's only a matter of time before residences that aren't totally under water start getting ransacked as well.

I am also glad to hear of some justified vigilante justice from an ex-cop!!! I hate that it happened, but let it serve as a warning to the rest of the POS down there!!!

Just watching this looting makes me just want to puke. imo there is nothing more lower than a thief. I wish we were a little more like some of these countries that take stealing more serious. They ought to cut off one hand when you get caught the first time. The other one goes after the second time.I believe after awhile people would start getting the message..
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the folks everywhere in the south. It is just so unbelievable!!

Interesting to note that of the 11,000 National Guard members in Louisiana, about 3,000 are currently deployed in Iraq.

That leaves 8000 left in LA.

yeah they said earlier that 65-70% were available for use in this state meaning most weren't deployed.

    I wasn't sure I read it correctly but i guess i did.

Sure. My point is that the major combat units are mostly deployed. There are several important support units that are still here. Most important are the engineer companies right now, I suspect.

A lifelong friend of mine is an E-7 mess sergeant based in Camp Beauregard. He is responsible for organizing, setting up, and managing a battalion-size field kitchen, but when he called me after the storm he said that there was talk they might have to deploy as infantry for security purposes.

I hope the officials think it through because getting that field kitchen in business down there is surely a more effective way to use these specialists than patrolling for looters.
