Shit like this is gonna keep happening until police are held responsible for breaking the law while on the job.

And riots won't change that. Community leaders need to take peace charge.

    black. Black. Black.
That's always their excuse for being arrested or questioned about something. Being black isn't the fucking problem. Acting like a god damn yard ape with no home training is the problem.
If these sorry, useless mother flickers would act civilized they wouldn't have a problem.
The cops done shot Tyrone! Let's riot and loot!
The cops done shot lakavious! Let's riot and steal!
A hurricane flooded the city! Loot and steal.
It seems their answer to everything is looting, rioting, and violence.
At this point I would like to see the cops start popping a cap on them rock throwing POSs. Give them something to really riot about.
The law enforcement is showing too much restraint at this point. The only thing those thugs are going to understand is force. The next mob that starts slinging bricks needs to be mowed down with some .308 and .40 cal rounds.

While that may be a wee bit extreme you do have to wonder why other minorities don't react in the same way. You never hear of Hispanics looting.

Looters should be shot, though. After Katrina armed gangs of thugs were terrorizing the people of New Orleans. The cops who shot them should be given a medal instead of being put on trial.

    A few comments:

    1. Ferguson is relevant. There was a white mayor, a white police chief and a largely white police force. Racial discrimination was alleged and black distrust was understandable. Baltimore has a black mayor, a black police chief, and a well-integrated police force. It is hard to argue for institutionalized racism there. The Baltimore situation was more about police misconduct than racial discrimination. Moreover, if the white mayor and police chief were held accountable for police misconduct in Ferguson, then the black mayor and police chief must be held equally accountable in Baltimore. The buck stops where it stops.

    3. The authorities in Baltimore immediately started an investigation. In fact four separate investigations are ongoing. This was not something that was going to be swept under the rug. So why the need for massive protests in the street? Especially since these thing often turn into the kind of looting and burning scenes that we saw in Ferguson and Baltimore. Protest organizers need to rethink the strategy. The more this riot crap happens the worse it makes street protests look.

    4. Ferguson police were heavily criticized for showing up in riot gear to be ready for peaceful protests that might turn violent. So Baltimore police did not do that . . . and see what it got them . . . a riot. Now the National Guard is called out and a curfew instituted.

    5. Police misconduct is serious in this country but they mistreat white people, too. It's not always a race issue, but it is an important issue that white people can do something about. Police have to be held accountable, but looting and rioting only make things worse. It makes people think "no wonder the police have to be hard on these people". The protests are starting to look like just an excuse to steal a TV or beat the shit out of a white journalist or shop owner.

    6. This business where black people when offended loot and burn their own neighborhoods in protest is a failure of the black community. White people can't fix this. As far back at the Detroit riots in the 60's, the L.A. Watts riots, the Rodney King riots and dozens of others, this is something that the black community has to address and they have failed badly. And they wonder why businesses don't want to locate there.

"The next time a white boy gets shot I'm going to loot Walmart." Is something that has never crossed my mind.
They rioted here back in the late 60's or early 70's once, I can't recall the year my uncle told me. But my uncles and and a bunch of other guys were riding through the area checking it out. Some dumbass threw a brick and hit uncle Jabos car. Before he knew it Ben pulled a 30-06 from the backseat and shot the guy 3 times. Didn't kill him though. Just blew his arm off at his shoulder. There hasn't been a riot here since then, that I know of.

I didn't say they would. I think rioting and looting are stupid.

The riots aren't about anything. These idiots don't even know the name of any of the above victims. We are at a point where whites are more empathetic with the black plight with cops and the legal system but lose everything gained by destroying their cities and attacking any white they see. I dont see this ever changing. Too many idiots and the numbers are increasing.

The only good thing that ever came out of a riot and looting was the Sublime song April 21st 1992.

This mom took care of business when she caught her son participating.

Why aren't these kids in school or at home?

As they grow up, how will they become part of a solution?

I watched an interview last night with the minister whose church and senior living facility were burned. They asked him what happened and his answer was that it was done by "an insensitive person". Really? Insensitive?

I think Red nailed it. The only thing I have to criticize the Mayor for is not deploying the NG a little earlier (although nobody expected all this after a few days of really respectable protests) and not calling curfew until tonight because she thought they needed ample warning. I'm pretty sure everyone in Baltimore knows what's going on.
