247sports.com is projecting him at 100% to recommit to LSU. We'll see tomorrow.

How is it peveto still has a job, like today, this day and every day after? It would be an upgrade just to fire him. It just buggs me that he is still on staff. Remarkable, really.

I was hoping to see Coach O get the promotion but of all the other possible hires Aranda was my favorite choice. He did a great job with far less talent than he will be coaching at LSU. He brings a discipline to a team that lacked it. He also coached a team that knew how to tackle. I like this hire a lot.

Unfortunately, he's a primary recruiter for some of the high profile recruits. Waiting to let him go after signing day maybe best. Much easier to find a special teams coach (summer intern), than a DC. Watching how they handled kick-offs at the Texas bowl could not say anymore about their special team problems. We all want him gone.

I don't get why so many want O as a DC.

I don't get why not? He has paid his dues. He is a great recruiter and does an excellent job with his unit. He brings a much needed intensity.

Totally agree. Take care of people who take care of you.

But he isn't a DC, has no track record for developing scheme's. Aranda has been trying to figure out how to defense not only defenses he faces but every summer meets with Herman and other coaches to discuss trends and how best to defense what offenses will be doing in the future.
