Florida will be lucky to get the weed whacker bowl. Its either that or Music City for them, if they get a bowl at all.
Cotton Bowl seems to be the safe bet. As far as SEC bowl tie-ins go, outside of the Sugar (or one of the BCS bowls) going to the SECCG winner, the Capital One bowl gets the #2 (usually the SECCG loser) followed by, what? The Cotton and then the Citrus? Yeah, I think that's the order.... If Auburn is undefeated and LOSES in the SECCG, then perhaps they'll have enough to still get an at-large BCS bid--giving us 2 BCS teams. That would then allow the Capital One to make their next selection, and that would be the only way we get to the SEC's #2 bowl. Unless we totally fall apart to end the season, we shouldn't be concerned about the Independance Bowl or the Peach.
LSU did play in the Hall of Fame Bowl in Tampa in 88-89, so we have been there. I would rather go to one of the Florida bowls, because I don't think we want any part of Texas this year with our offense. GEAUX TIGERS
If the offense doesnt kick it into gear, then expect the Independence Bowl.. if they get going.. then the Cotton.. Florida will not be bowling in December.. they will be 5-6 and out of the mix.
It looks like the Tigers will go to the Cotton if they play out the season well. I just cant see the Cotton not giving us a bid and us not taking a bid for a Jan 1 game. Likely playing.....Texas if they stay out of the BCS mix.
yea texas will find some way to screw up their BCS bowl hopes, they still have OSU and tamu, both possible losses, michigan should win out but they still have northwestern who has been a giant killer this year and ohio state, BCS bowl is probably just out of our reach this year, i don't really care which bowl we go to, as long as we play a good team and win
