Whatever the teams knows, I doubt that Miles will publicly name the QB starter too soon. He has been very cagey about a lot of things because the opponents don't have any film to go on of a Les Miles LSU team and he isn't about to reveal any of his tendencies. Including which quarterback will be playing. Make their DC have to plan for any contingency at QB.

Remember when Tennessee had no contingency for Matt Mauck at QB and no defense for the quarterback draw?

    great post....

In my opinion I think everyone associated with the team including Miles knows that Russell will be the starter. I think Miles is giving the other guys a chance, but also he is making it seem like its a real close race to keep Russell on his toes.

RP might turn out to be all he is cracked up to be, but if he is our starter "this" season, we are in trouble and will drop at least 2-3 games.

Yep. And at this point leadership might be more important than physical ability at the QB spot.

I don't see RP being accepted as a leader on this team anytime soon. Right or wrong, I'm sure there's a large portion of the team with at least some small resentment after hearing RP's blabbering, or alleged blabbering, all summer.

miles already said he isn't naming anyone publically til a week before kickoff opening day.

no need to anyhow. he knows its jr but others get to prepare for all 3 if they're smart either way.

Miles has been super secretive and it pisses off the media. i like it.

Who says it will stop if he does name a starter?

I think saying RP or Flynn will not continue working hard just because Miles says JR is the starter is ridiculous.

Do you believe those two QB's are lazy kids who will just quit?

RP & Flynn are fighting for the right to take the first snap in the 2nd half against N. Texas, after JR and company hang 35 on 'em in the 1st half.

Maybe Flynn gets the 3rd qtr and RP gets the 4th qtr

So many reports are coming out saying that Flynn is looking really sharp in practice. I sure wish I could watch them & see for myself. I had always thought, like most people, that it was JR's job to lose but these reports are starting to make me wonder.

No way Perrilloux beats out both JR & Flynn for the season opener. There's just to much to learn & he hasn't been in the system nearly long enough.

remember its also "practice", neither Flynn or RP have any real game experience. If you remember Rohan never really wowed people in practice, but he got it done on the field.

thank you for mentioning MF. I really wish people would realize that this is a three man race and stop saying that it's JR's job... or that RP will start by the end of the season. I dont see why everyone overlooks MF...
