So you're saying Ritter ate a reuben for lunch? I could see that going on as well, prob why his eyes are like that.
There's the point of LSU playing one less game to consider. Some might point to Bama playing four SEC teams versus three for LSU but I believe the Wisky game washes that out. No, sir. Treadwell, Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Conner ... just to name a few. Two of those were thought to be locks to Bama early on in that recruiting class. They find out a few days before the game kicks off; normally Monday's. When Roy Kramer made the decision to go with crews one of his intents was to put the best crew on the biggest games. That changes from week to week. Mild case of the flu. He was back the next day. (Of course, it's always a "mild case" when someone else has it, right?
Let me add one thing here. There is a preliminary schedule for officials released in the summer time. Monday's are used to "confirm" and "adjust" based on teams and their seasons. @uscvball might know for sure but I think I recall reading where the PAC assigns all their games before the season. I talked with a ref last season (I want to say he was from the ACC ... but I was flying and had a few Scotch's so my memory may not serve here) and he said they get their assignments on Thursday.
Oh, and on Ritter ... I don't believe he's biased. Is he competent? Yes, I think so. Does he miss some very obvious calls on occasion? Don't they all? Those worried about Ritter may need to consider he's been the head official in six of Alabama's last 10 losses including Ole Miss this season.
He isn't competent. But honestly I don't give a damn who the officials are as long as they do their jobs.
terry and ritter share the same rule book and said the bama guy touched it and the ball was down before peterson made his illegal catch.
