Some will probably be pissed at me posting this, but since 2000, the team coached by Nick Saban is 12-3 in this rivalry. Dominated as LSUs coach and has dominated at Bama's coach. Anyway, I think the key to the game is Brandon Harris. We all like the progress we've seen from him this season. However, in two weeks, he's facing something that he hasn't seen since the Auburn game last year. A really huge game on the road. I know we beat Miss St earlier in the year, but I don't think you can honestly compare those two teams. How Harris responds in the most hostile environment he has faced since last season might be the difference because the teams look pretty even to me. Bama is at home, which IMO is huge in the SEC. Yes, Bama has played better on the road this season, but I wouldn't count on that being the case in 2 weeks. Nick's gonna have them ready to play. Just my .02
But, Miles has beaten Saban more than any other coach currently in the SEC. So at least there is that. And think about this as well, in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2014, all of those games were winnable, 2 went to overtime, 1 was won on the last play in regulation. And in all of those games, Miles has never had a top ranked SEC offense like this year.
And who were the coaches at Bama that Saban beat? Were they close to his level? Of course, I'm not talking about when Dennis Franchione emasculated our '02 Saban team 31-0.
Shaun Alexander just scored another touchdown. You'll get a kick out this one, you know where I was to watch that game? You remember Ben's Halfyard House? That's the one time I went there, never went again after.
That's so funny! I used to go to Ben's Halfyard House in the late 90's for LSU games. They had really good cheeseburgers.
The games have been close, no doubt. Miles has done a better job against Saban than anyone else. I didn't say we don't have a prayer. I just said it would be tough. As far as SEC offense rankings, not sure the difference in the numbers, but the Mettenberger offense in 2013 was way better than this one. Now that offense didn't have LF, so there is that, but there is no way this offense compares to that one, other than Fournette at least IMO. I mean, Jeremy Hill does play in the NFL.
