Here are my best guesses for running in '08

Red States: Rudy Guiliani, John McCain, Jeb Bush

Blue States: Hillary Clinton, John Edwards

If the law changes and allows Schwarzenegger to run, then I think he would have done a great enough job in Cali to make him a viable candidate as well. A Republican carrying the state of California, what a combo (Reagan version 2).

We need to get some crap on Hillary between now and the time she runs to ruin her political career. She would be worse for America than Kerry would have been.

I agree except for Jeb Bush and John Edwards. Edwards proved himself as nothing but spoiled crybaby and all he's got left to do now is go sue all the drug companies and doctors he can before tort reform comes about. He's pretty much washed up as a politician, unless he pulls the move to NY and run for senate thing. I also think it would be hard to get another Bush elected that soon, but you never know.

Good luck getting some crap on Hillary, seems like everyone who gets something on the Clintons winds up in some sort of crash or shooting themself out in the woods.

I personally think Bill Frist has a better chance at the ticket than Guliani and McCain. He will appeal more to the conservative base of the GOP. Although McCain and Rudy, could possibly reach across and grab some moderate Dems.

And I hope Hilary gets the ticket. She has no chance. And its not because she is a woman.

Do you think Rudy would turn NY red? I'd say yeah.

No need to get any kind of "crap" on Hillary. She'll hang herself...she can't help it. Whereas Bill was enough of a con artist that he could pose as a moderate to get elected, Hillary can't pull that kind of deception off...it sticks in her craw. She's a socialist, and damn proud of it.

I predict she doesn't get out of the primaries in '08. You heard it here first.

in my opinion, rudy G is about as perfectly placed and strong as any politician could be, for 2008.

he is exactly what is most electable. he has a reputation as a cool and heroic figure in times of crises. he is a relative social liberal, he dosent turn off moderate democrats with what they see as a co-opting of the gop by the religious right. he is a hardliner bush supporter on foreign relations. he is as good as clinton at speaking. he sounds good, both in credibility as well as delivery. he is smart. he is principled like bush, but doesnt seem like he is blindly and stubbornly following his own doctrines, because he can explain things better. he is a fiscal conservative and has a strong law and order record a prosecutor and crime killing mayor whose "broken windows" theory worked to massively reduce crime.

he turned a frighteningly liberal city into a town who has now elected another republican, in spite of pataki being a grandstanding idiot.

he can make new york state go "red", because only the most barbaric idiot liberals do not respect him. his marital problems are not an issue. you can do anything in your personal life, as long as you dont try to hide it. america doesnt care about that stuff any more, if they ever did.

people badly want a social liberal/fiscal conservative. a strong one can and will destroy hillary.

I think both parties will have to come to the center to win the next election. Moderates McCain and Giuliani have an excellent chance to get the GOP nomination. The Democrats have to find a moderate new to Washington, like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter were. All of the old guard Democrats are too far to the left. The only major centrist democrat is Hillary, who is unelectable due to her gender and association with His Slickness.

She's not unelectable because of his slickness, she has enough of her own, "STENCH" to keep her out of the White House. :thumb:

I never volunteered to help out the Republican party candidate for President before, but if they are going up against Hillary in 08 I will definitely be volunteering.

That evil bitch must be defeated.

    Election? What election?

True elections involve votes. True votes involve choice. If choices are overridden by black box software and manipulation then there will be no 2008 election, only a sham.

If by 2008 the Republicans have not moved to require paper receipts for all votes then you will know, once and for all, who the crooked enemies of democracy are, because there is no legitimate reason not to institute the requirement.
