    LTD is a necessity if you're the primary breadwinner. Good on you for keeping an emergency fund in place for short term situations. If you compare quotes on an aggregator website (like ones that sell life insurance, short term disability and long term disability insurance), you'll find out what prices men your age with similar health profiles are paying. That way you'll have a good reference that'll help if you're looking around for a new policy. Usually, like in mobius's case, group coverage is usually the most affordable type of coverage available.
