Ding Dong, someone gets it but you should send your post to some of the Democrats that are too busy attacking the right in this country. Iraq doesn't really matter since we are already there and its past tense. The truth is like what I've been saying, this country can't stomach any kind of war, we don't even want to interrogate the enemy anymore. This is why I wrote the post and say I've given up on this country, sadly we would rather fight each other and treat our enemies as friends. Meantime the enemy will do anything to kill us and we are just too ignorant to realize what is really going on. I would rather spend more time with my family, whatever time we have left until this country folds like the Roman Empire. It may or may not happen in my lifetime but it sure looks like its possible. Like I said in a post around here, I'm not sure 10 9\11's would make a difference... We would be too busy blaming each other instead of the enemy.
I agree with everything that you said. However, my post was directed at everyone. The right waged an all-out war against anyone, from this country or not, that did not commit their unabridged support for their agenda. They stooped so low as to say that they supported terrorist. How ****ing pathetic, accusing your own countrymen of such a thing. In return, the left has followed suit and almost seems to be blaming all the problems in the Middle East on the right. As-****ing-if. Those people have always hated us, long before W was the president. That is the biggest problem with Iraq. It has literally crippled this country at a time when our unity should be at an all-time high...the way it was after 9/11. But I'm not here to bitch about that for once. We all just need to wake the **** up (on BOTH sides) and get something done. Sorry for the profanity, ya'll. But this crap is making my blood boil. We need to quit acting like children.
"We" are getting something done - and many of us woke "the **** up" on September 11, 2001 and haven't been back to sleep since. As for hating each other - who in hates who? We're having a political discussion / debate here at the big people table. We all have strong convictions and deeply held beliefs - we're Americans. This thread is a political debate and not a hate stage. I disagree with CRAWFISH to the point that it makes me grind my teeth - but hate, WTF are you talking about. If CRAWFISH and I were to sit down for a beer or take in an LSU event we would likely enjoy each other's company. However, this happens to be a political conversation and we don't see eye to eye. Yeah, it gets heated and people get challenged, corrected, called out, and bruised up every now and then, but debating politics is a healthy thing and it's great for the mind and the spirit. CRAWFISH (or anyone else) doesn't hate me - and I don't hate them. Talking politics in America has always been a sleeping tornado. Crack a history book or bring up a hot political issue at mom's dinner table and you will see that it's always sticky - but it's fun and it's educational and it is the one of the most precious social opportunities and birth rights that we share as Americans. This nation has been divided to the point of bloody warfare and united in winning its own independence all in a relatively short period of time. Having a charged discussion about foreign policy, defense policy, or anything else in the political realm is not hate. We don't need an umpire on this one, chief - and we certainly do not need anyone telling us who we do and do not hate. Expression and disagreement is not hate. PS - CRAWFISH is wrong about everything!
Spare me the self-righteous bull****, son. I ain't just talking about you. And I damn sure don't need your lecture on the dynamics of a political debate, given many of your delusional assertions that regarding liberals and national security. You are a damn fool if you do not see and feel the hatred that has developed between the right and left in this country over the past 2.5 years. Whether you want to admit it or not, you're just as guilty as everyone else. I don't need to prove it. In times of despair, you simply can't rise above your distaste for the other side. That is a very bad sign and completely un-American. Maybe you don't 'need' it, but I'm giving it to you anyway, so deal with it, kiddo.
I have a distaste for the liberal left. So what? Why do you think that prevents me from rising above it in times of despair? Yes, I have definitely seen the bad blood boil over the last 2.5 years, but in that same time period I have seen the Republicans move, do, and assert while the other side of the aisle has whined and done everything they can to make every issue and every point of contention an exercise in fierce partisan politics. What I have seen is the hatred for the President of the United States of America - a personal hatred that scares the crap out of me. People genuinely hate the man. He is the leader of the free world and I have to listen to people accuse him of starting a war for oil... F**K that! People are still bitter about the 2000 Election - are you kidding me? I like Bush (the President and the body part) and I vote and align myself with the Right - that doesn't make me unable to reason and compromise to accomplish things for this nation. I like the Whopper better than the Big Mack. I don't like Kobe and I do like Shaq. I don't like AC Slater and I do like Zack - so what? If you can't reason or think beyond party lines then you (no you, but you generically) should do some thinking, reading, and listening. Personally, I can jump the aisle under the right circumstances and for the right isolated cause - but the foreign policy and defense agenda of the liberal left is an invitation that I will regret for now...
sometimes i try to talk in rhyme, but i'm just wasting my time, it all seems rather lacking, with never no backing,
What's the point of this? It makes no sense. But, if you're gonna rhyme, don't be so tense. Let it flow and make it smooth or take it slow and set the mood.
