I just think there are bigger things to discuss and/or get upset about rather than gameday not being here this weekend. Whether or not ESPN comes we are still playing the game right? Who cares about some ESPN tools coming to the game and acting like they know something about football. I just think some people want the rest of the world to acknowledge that this is a big game. It is a big game and a lot of people will be watching it. Believe me, we don't need gameday. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
What do some of you guys not get? We don't want Gameday here cause some how it'll help us win, it's just good exposure for the program. Plain and simple.
Gameday and any mention of your team on ESPN is huge for recruiting. Have you seen how much hype USC and Nebraska have already received by the Gameday commercials.
Being on gameday does give you exposure but so does winning. We do that on Saturday we'll get the attention.
and currently, espn has a poll that has the USC/Nebraska game LAST in terms of what game fans thought was the best matchup. LSU/Auburn was ranked 1st.... Pathetic. ESPN picks the game knowing all too well that it's not even the 3rd-best game and then put a poll out to be shown.... I'm really starting to hate ESPN and their crap.
espn does suck now but usc braska is a battle of 2 classic powerhouses that hardly ever play each other - its not a bad choice imo that is pretty ****ty if gameday doesnt go to any sec team games all year. i know its about advertising, but maybe they should advertise they have a quality product
no sojon, it's a terrible choice.... and that's not just, like you say, "IMO", but the majority of opinion polls I've seen the last two days. Nebraska's record for last four years: 05............7-5 04............5-6 03............10-3 02............7-7 Who wants to watch them. They seem to be improved but are not proven yet. They sure feel like they'll beat USC and even though it could happen but, like you say, "IMO" USC wins easily. Several better choices: Fla/Tenn, Michigan/ND, or watching another Pac 10 beat down (Hopefully OU puts one on Oregon) but, like you say, "IMO" Oregon wins, unfortunately. My point is this, you are welcome to post and talk credible football talk on this forum but you pop in and out, discretely posting little innuendos. Seems like you are trying to pick a fight instead of a discussion or debate. Maybe the Sooner forum is boring, maybe you got banned, maybe you harbor resentment from the long drive home from New Orleans with your a*&#@ in your helmets? Good night.:champs:
In all fairness I think this is only Gameday's 2nd time out on the west coast. I think with the SEC being the way it is this year (very good), they're going to have to go down south at least once, maybe for the UF/UGA game at least.
I don't think so. It certainly appears that Gameday is going to only be at the ABC Saturday night games. And for the record, it's NOT that we feel like we need Gameday to be there to win. It's what the others said; it's terrific exposure for the teams that are featured. That being said, I now DVR Gameday, go work out instead of listening to the drivel in real time, then blow through the entire two hours in about 15 minutes. It's less painful that way.
