Alot of ppl probably do and I actually do b/c she comes to my job almost everyday and sometimes with their oldest daughter.
I dont want Spurrier. He's a lot older than he was at UF and the wind has been knocked out of his sails. I'd like a younger guy who will stay for awhile. Exactly
Of course I would lik it if we kept winning. But we don't know if we would win with Spurrier's offense and I like what we have with Crowton. Crowton's offense is harder to defend and offers more options at the line. Crowton is a known thing right now at LSU and I like it, whereas Spurrier's offense is an unknown for LSU. I prefer sticking with something I know.
I could probably take losing an extra game a year with Spurrier just to hear his press conferences.
If Carr resigns next Monday, I do not believe Michigan will go two months with uncertainty surrounding their head coaching position. And if Miles were to win a Nat'l championship, his contract with LSU would change substantially - much less palatable for Michigan. Sure, the formalities are saved for what is a 95% sure deal. But nothing is done until it is done, and Florida's Donovan showed how even that can be undone. I can't see how Michigan would wait until after the BCS, and after what would certainly be post title contract negotiations to go get Miles. A new BCS title would make Miles one of the most expensive hires in coaching, something IMO would not be looked upon favorably by UM folks. From Miles' perspective, the leaking would largely undo his ability to prep the team in advance of a BCS title game (if we go). If he were talking with UM, such plans would be leaked, and that would set up one of the all time great disasters in college football. This is what I meant with my earlier comment. As for Spurrier, I think he may be a great coach, but his 15 minutes have been previously enjoyed.
While I agree with a lot of what's been said here, let me throw a monkey wrench into the mix. Suppose Michigan doesn't want Miles. Be it money, experience, or the "price of tea in China," just because Miles said from day one he'd love to coach there, means at this point, nothing. The talking heads will run with this ball, but I'm expecting short yardage. :LSU231: From espn.com: "In the "termination by coach" section of his deal, Michigan is the only other school mentioned. It states that Miles will not seek or accept employment as Michigan's coach. If Miles does leave LSU to coach the Wolverines, he must pay LSU $1.25 million."
