likewise, someday you will see the light yourself. Ive had more fun debating with you than anyone here.
sounds simple enough right. both parties acted a fool. but i can understand why Gates acted a fool. Do i condone it, no, but i understand.
"But I think it's fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry," Obama said. "No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And No. 3 — what I think we know separate and apart from this incident — is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact." Three quesses at the name of the person who made these comments?
Sounds like a disorderly conduct to me. I don't think it was necessary for them to arrest him. What do you think he threw a, "do you know who I am" out there. Without a transcript of their conversation, we won't know. And with that being said, I think Obama shoulda minded his own business about it
I'm sure that's the debate. It's not what the police report says though so it's not the cop's side of the story. The bottom line is, you yell at a cop and act belligerent, anything can happen. The cop had every right and responsibility to ask for ID. I seriously doubt he hung around just to harass the guy after he found out he lived there if the guy was being completely cordial and forthcoming so I have to believe the situation was tense before he showed id.
How? He was breaking into a home and the cop hassled him until he showed an id. He then screamed at the police officer incessantly. How is it understandable that this is racially motivated.
Gates' neighbors should've minded their own business. i think they're to blame for this whole mess. Seeing as how they were called there... They didn't just say, "hey, let's go harass that guy, i bet he doesn't belong here" They were there investigating a call, not stirring sht.
