It also said unless probable cause was established. Clearly probable cause was established.

    The police don't know it's a prank

Because Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton marching in the streets would have been a political nightmare for the police dept. Has absolutely nothing to do with what is right or wrong.

i suppose thats a guess. do you think it could not also be because they could not get a conviction or it wasnt worth the using the resources?

Yes you can, but you don't know where I live and i don't own an LSU cap, only visors.

I would be required to show an ID due to probably cause. Then they charge you with a crime, sometimes even a felony. Hence the reason people don't do this.

I seriously doubt it, it's clear Gates was guilty and deserved to be arrested. Also if they took the cost of resources into consideration there would be much fewer people in jail today that were arrested on minor charges.

There are a number of people that grow up in crappy situations. In the US, a number of black folks grow up in bad situations. The difference, particularly with black males, is that there is a sterotype and they face the repurcussions of that on a near daily basis, if not more frequently.

That doesn't mean they can't get along fine, that doesn't mean that they can't overcome it. But to have to face that on a daily basis would cause me to feel a bit jaded and it would cause me to feel like something of an outsider.

I think it is probably better now than ever before, but it really frustrates me when white folks write race off like it was simply a thing of the past. I'm sure minorities across the world face this or worse, and I don't think there is much we can do about it, but on an individual basis I think those that make the argument that it should simply be dropped should try to consider it from another person's prespective.

i would feel great about it. feeling like an outsider sometimes is part of being human. get over it.

that must be terrible being frustrated like that.

what i am trying to explain to you is that your attitude is condescending. we dont need to walk in a black man's shoes and feel his terrible pain. we dont need to wallow in pain over whatever horrible things he deals with. we need to do the opposite. to forget the past and stop caring about tribalism, stop worrying about it.

look, if you are a racist, so be it. if you are not, so be it. thats really all there is to it. this is a non-issue. if there is a company that will not hire black folks, and you are black, too bad. work somewhere else. show that company what they missed. dont whine. that makes the racism seem justified.

It is easy to say get over it. I don't have respect for disingenuous folks who play the race card when convenient, but I can understand falling short.

You say to perpetual impoverishment, "Suck it up," but the cost to society is too high IMO. Therefore... REPARATIONS!!! :hihi:
