    And plauying guard and tackle are so different. Livings just isn't as well suited for being in the much larger area that a tackle has to defend, especially on pass plays. At guard the d-lineman can only go a coup[l eof feet each way, at tackle the guy he is trying to block can go 3 or 4 feet to the blockers left and several feet to his right. Making quickness and good feet that much more important. Plus DE's are usually much quicker than DT's.

    IMO that is the major difference, the quicker more athletic DE's are tough for some of the slower OL to block. In the SEC a tackle needs to be quick and have good foot work or the DE's in this league will eat him alive. Even though Livings is in the best shape of his life he doesn't seem suited to play on the outside.

    Well said.

    Look, Livings isn't as bad as some think. Besides, he's a whole helluva lot better than probably 75% of the starters at tackle in the SEC. I'd take him any day.
