As today is the anniversary of the 1970 debut of The Partridge Family, here are 2 LKF: The show was inspired by a real-life family musical group, The Cowsills, and several members of that band were considered for roles on the TV show. But their father insisted that their mother play the role of Shirley Partridge, while the show producers were insistent the role go to Shirley Jones.

It actually took 2 musical groups to provide the Partridge Family sound. A studio group known as The Wrecking Crew provided the instrumentation. David Cassidy, in his role as oldest child Keith Partridge, did most of his own singing, while a studio group called The Ron Hinklin Singers provided the voices of his siblings as backup vocalists.

A couple of LKF celebrating the anniversary of the debut of The Flintstones.

Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first TV couple, animated or otherwise, to be shown sleeping in the same bed.

The series, which ran for 6 seasons, used a canned instrumental piece as opening music for the first 2 seasons. The famed theme "Meet The Flintstones" didn't appear until the 3rd season, and it was later added to the earlier episodes for syndication.

Barney's occupation is never mentioned throughout the entire series run.

In spinoffs and that goofy John Goodman movie, but not in the original series.

What spinoffs? I didn't realize it had spinoffs. And I'm with @el005639. I used to watch it a lot when I was younger and was almost positive he worked with Fred at Slate Rock and Gravel.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, there may have been a Pebbles and Bam Bam spinoff series.
