I'm trying to decipher some hidden meaning behind the Roman numeral on the Conservative 10C and the Arabic numerals on the Liberal 10C.
And Red, I'm not going to gripe too much about your Conservative 10C, because I thought you addressed both sides with fairly equal curmudgeon-ness. I do have to object to Number I, though. I'm sick of this idea that if you are willing to publicly state a moral position, you are seen to have declared yourself perfect. Moral failure is neither Conservative nor Liberal, it is human. If you still insist that this be your first Conservative Commandment, I propose a mirror-Liberal Commandment: Thou shalt deny any knowledge of right or wrong in thine actions, and thus proclaim thyself free from consequences of even the most heinous transgressions.
I thought these were funny... The Liberal Commandments I. You shall have no gods before yourself. The separation of church and state is a sacred law we must uphold at all costs. II. You shall worship the fools of Hollywood. They shall be your greatest of idols. III. You shall not take the name of Lord Obama in vain. All that he does is perfect and true. IV. Remember the Sabbath day and mock those that follow it. Every day is a poor man’s resting day. Let the rich work and give their money unto the poor. V. Honor your father and your mother, or your mother and other mother, or father and other father, or mother and several fathers. VI. Do not murder those that murder. Abort babies instead. VII. Do not commit adultery unless you’re Bill Clinton. VIII. Do not steal. The party of disbelievers is the party of thievery. You shall not follow their election stealing ways. IX. Do not lie, under oath. Leave lying to our party’s politicians, they are the professionals. X. Covet until you find a way to make what is theirs yours. The welfare state is nothing without your desires for what is not yours, yet.
