I don't know . . . Skip once wrote a letter asking LSU fans to stop abusing visitors and those incidents dropped off. It wasn't because the miscreants were shown "the error of their ways". It was because it kind of empowered the rest of us to stop tolerating that behavior from those around us. LSU fans started calling the cops on hooligans instead of ignoring them. Peer pressure may reduce the booing, too. It certainly has in my section. None of the regulars boo and when some single-game ticket folks start booing, they get glowered at and people around them start cheering.
I couldn't agree more. If you're that miserable about LSU Football, quit watching and stop spending your money.
I was going to bring up this exact point. I believe the incident in question in Skip's letter was the port-a-potty turned over because a UGA fan was inside in '03. This booing is similar STUPID behavior. Peer pressure will often make booing cowards/losers buckle.
I think booing either home or visiting team in any sport is way off base. Now the referees, that is another matter. But, as Bandit stated earlier, it is embarrassing or to me, unsettling, to have to write this letter. Clearly, booing is expected, thus displeasure amongst the fan base is expected..for a 4 and 0 team. That is wild. I wish the reference to national tv had been omitted though, sounded like we are puttin on our shiny faces for the tv audience, not for the team. Uhmm. Don't boo!
