FieldTurf replaced the original Astroturf. http://www.artificialturf.org/display.cfm?newsID=458 Richt commented on the change of turf during his Sunday night radio call-in show with Larry Munson on WSB750 in Atlanta. A caller had asked a question about playing on astroturf and Richt informed him of the turf change and implications for the running games and pass coverages.
I know it won't happen, but I really, really wish USC would lose to Oregon State for one reason other than the obvious for LSU: A USC loss plus a win over LSU (even moreso if Miami of Ohio loses, too) gives the Dawgs a (long) shot at Sugar. Put it another way, BOTH teams would take the field believing that they are a victory away from a shot at the national title. It would be slobber-knocking, out of control-intense and emotionally-infused, excellent SEC football at its very, very best. You just know all those southern boys would leave it all out on the field, too. The fans, the bands...the pad-popping, helmet-cracking hits. Man, I love SEC football!
