Brady kind of reminds me of my high school basketball coach. Knows his X's & O's but isn't into the politics and schmoozing that goes with the job. Also uses the fear factor to get his players to pay attention to detail. Kind of like Saban and I'm fine with that. I learned later to appreciate my coach and I'm sure Brady's players will do the same for him.

On the other hand, maybe we're giving Brady too much coaching credit because of comparisons to Dale. While Dale Brown was instrumental in LSU's success and a great ambassador for the university, his coaching skills weren't always the best. He had unthinkable talent during his last few years and did little with it. All I'm saying is there are plenty of quality coaches out there who would do well at LSU. There will never be a problem recruiting quality talent, regardless of the coach (unless we're on probation again) because of what the university has to offer. PMAC problems will be addressed soon enough.

I say give Brady 3 yrs to prove what he can do. He's done well so far with the talent and circumstances he inherited but this is now his ship. No more excuses. Let's see how this year's recruiting class pans out and next year's with Glen Davis. We should know more by then.

    foolhearty???

Wilson you think my post was foolhearty??????

All I did was compare players leaving a great program (Saban's). to an up and coming program (Brady's).

It was a comparison. You had no idea of why I posted this, so why did you even comment?

Let's see, if my post was foolhearty, then what does that make your comment??

    Enough said!

One thing about Brady i'm not crazy about.....

is his swearing on the sidelines. When the PMAC is near empty, it's easy to hear his cursing. With so many of us bringing our kids to the games, he should'nt let that be heard. You can be fiery and intense without profanity.
That said, I like everything else about him.

First of all, you needs to check your facts.

A lot of the players you listed, for example Jones and Daire, were Dumbnardo recruits, not Sabans. To compare Saban to Brady is like comparing gold to tin.

FWIW-Jeffinbama has been IM'd about what are my PERSONAL, VERIFIABLE, and VERY PUBLIC beefs regarding Brady's off the court antics.

I can produce (copy and paste) the PM that I sent to him-and this was at LEAST a month and a half ago.

If JeffinBama wishes to call me out anymore in the face of KNOWING that I've produced the proof for him off this forum, with the understanding that I don't want to air dirty laundry-even if I know just how dirty the laundry is-out of respect for our PROGRAM, I don't know what else to say about him other than that he is either lying or is a revisionist historian.

That will NOT deter me from voicing displeasure over this program. He is continually rankled by my steadfast support of my original assertions and opinions. So far, no one has refuted what I have told them. To this point, JeffinBama has never responded to that Personal Message I sent to him, and for him to say that I've never produced any information is-on his part-quite unfortunate.

Those that have to make up lies and totally bend the truth when they know my proclivities on the subject in question are a sad fact of life when it comes to internet message boards.

He alludes to me using names, and attempts to belittle or besmirch me or erode my credibility on this site. Such is his right.

I also have the right to defend-here and now-the fact that I've provided him with the EXACT information that he now claims that he's "called me out to produce" for him.

I will not-I repeat WILL NOT-get into the off the court situations and the problems that have arisen from them on this site. I have provided the problems to many people here, and I did this for JeffinBama, too. I only did it in an off the board format.

Yet again, those that support this coach rally behind a comparison to a different sport and a different coach. I ask yet again, name one football player who has broken a jaw of a teammate on any of Saban's teams?

Name one player who has done something to negatively affect LSU, and has not been punished or reprimanded by Nick Saban and/or his staff for this act?

    I wait...I'll continue to wait...

As for the attrition, there 85 scholarship athletes on a football team. On a basketball team, there might be 13, if I'm not mistaken.

If Brady were allowed to increase the number of scholarship basketball players by 6.5 times, to bring the number of scholarship b-ball players up to match the football sqaud, and also increase the number of players who leave the program for similar reasons, Brady would have already lost what...19.5 players?

Can Saban have matched that cumulatively during his time at LSU?

To compare Basketball and Football attrition rates, much less take a look at how these football players are EXCELLENT AMBASSADORS (as compared to WHAT for basketball players?), it's just a fool's exercise.

Yet again, anyone who comes up with a point to support Brady is held up to the light as some excellent thinker, and anyone who steadfastly offers up opinions as to why they dislike Brady-such as myself-and refuses to budge on the opinion, and refuses to back down when called out, is painted to be some negative pariah on this site, and has their intelligence and cognitive abilities questioned.

Now Jeffinbama is attempting to rile up the ownership/administration of this site, in a feeble attempt to silence my opinions, my statements of fact, and to cover up the simple truth: He is absolutely confounded by the fact that he is unable to change my opinion.

He can't do it, has tried, has failed, and can't figure out what to do. He wants to silence my opinions, my ability to use this forum to express them just as he expresses, and wishes to belittle or resort to name calling, outright lies, and casting aspersions to somehow marginalize my argument.

He can do what he likes. I'll stay above this fray. None of you deny that the players I have talked about were thugs. None of you can deny that Brady friendly media held up players like JueMichael Young and Shawnson Johnson and made them out to be the reasons we couldn't be successful.

We were told that when these players took the court, LSU would CONTEND FOR THE SEC TITLE.

Neither of them saw a single meaningful minute at LSU. They wasted scholarships, got arrested, broke team rules, got benched, got told to leave the assembly center in the face of breaking team rules, but most glaringly...

These players didn't even make the grades to get eligible in a timely fashion in order to MAXIMIZE their effectiveness and their time on LSU's campus. Grades-especially in Johnson's case-fall on Brady.

Bitch-slapping your girlfriend in a dorm and getting arrested for it, yet never having to sit out a single game is just typical of the Brady Era. We've had outright violence displayed towards undeserving significant others, and undeserving teammates. We've had academic issues, we've had large scale player attrition, and we've had outright mistakes in recruiting bad characters.

I challenge anyone to refute this information. I challenge Jeffinbama to deny that I made an "off the record" appeal to him and provided him with information that he says I have never produced. I am ready, willing, and able to cut and paste a message that has certain specific information deleted out in regards to specific situations I outlined to him regarding my dislike of Brady.

Anyone who goes to these lengths to stifle the free flow of information that suffers from only one problem (that of not being a positive, like-minded, purple and gold glasses clad statement like jeffinbama would want to ONLY be allowed) has a sad problem.

jeffinbama, you need to come to the realization that as much as you won't back down, neither will I. You won't change my opinion, and it galls you to understand this. I can't do anything else but restate what's already been restated. You, on the other hand, continue to warp and misconstrue the truth, and you do it all in a vain attempt to silence me on this forum...

It's pathetic, honestly...Let's let our IDEAS speak, and try NOT to say that someone's opinions and thoughts be stifled or outright censored by management for no other reason than you don't like them...

I would like to add to anyone who says that I never talk about anything other than that when it comes to basketball...

That I have constantly lauded Brady as a basketball coach, on his knowledge of the game, on his abilities as both a talent evaluator and a motivator, as someone who gets every ounce of ability from his charges.

He is a great strategist, and an impeccably good in-game adjustment-maker. He has a depth and breadth in terms of his knowledge of the game that is impressive.

He knows talent when he sees it, and I like his brash spirit-at times.

I have never doubted for an instant about any of these qualities, and freely mention them when prompted...
