We get most of the rest from Canada and Mexico. However as anyone who has a basic understanding of economics knows when some companies are forced to raise prices their competitors will also raise their prices. Steel and aluminum prices will rise by the same percentage as the tariff.....as they will with everything that has additional tariffs.

While I lack formal training in either diplomacy or international relations it just seems kind of dumb to raise tariffs (and piss off) the country (China) that we need to help us with North Korea (preventing catastrophic war). All of Trump’s shit is “transactional” with no thread of either strategy or continuity. I once thought we could just “cowboy up” and get through (grind through) 4 years. Beginning to doubt that’s gonna happen.
You realize China employs massive tariffs already right? It’s how they manipulate their economy. They borrow massive amounts for their state run growth.
No they’re predictions based on knowledge of economics and the past. The articles look specific causes and effects of the tariffs as they were proposed by Trump. How they impact is common sense and knowledge of the economy. There is a list in one of the articles that detail the impact. Read it why don’t you. There’s a difference between the remote possibility of aliens visiting and the reality of predicting a car caused by texting while driving. These predictions are closer to the car wreck scenarios than aliens by orders of magnitude.
