He coached in the Big XII, for goodness sakes. It's not like came from the MAC, Mountain West or such...
USC is a runaway #1 with Texas a strong and clear #2. The AP poll will reflect a similar result in 2 weeks. An undefeated Texas with wins over OSU & OU & a run of the table would get them to the Rose Bowl & LSU would not jump over them, IMO. After an OU win, UT would cruise in for the Rose with the Talking Heads going nuts for a USC/UT matchup every week and the rest of the media lapping it up. Of course, an incredible storm this would ensue with back-to-back SEC Champs being snubbed. This probably will not happen, as I am a firm believer in Mack Brown & his ability to CHOKE. I believe UT & Brown are chokers & UT will drop one somewhere along the line, as is their custom. So, if Texas loses a game, that leaves LSU to jump above Oklahoma (No problem there) & Michigan (This is worthy of further discussion, but I believe LSU could jump above an undefeated Michigan) :crystal:
Well, I really wasn't talking about Miles' abilities. It's more of the time necessary to get his system in place. That usually takes a season or two. The "buy your Rose Bowl tickets now" seems a bit premature, no? Has there ever been a coach in the SEC to take his team undefeated in his first year?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, ****! I forgot one more scenario. What happens if Auburn runs the table again? They get the shaft again, of course
I'm certain a 28 game winning streak would garner all the attention anyone would need to get to the Rose. :hihi:
Great post. I apologize for getting off track with Auburn (snicker, snicker). One other point. On second glance, Michigan has a relatively easy road as does USC. They wouldn't dare place two "cupcake munchers" in the Rose Bowl? LSU's serious challenge for a NC bid is an undefeated #2 Texas if 3 or even 4 undefeated teams (USC, TX, Mich, LSU) are left in the end. Just thinking!!!
