I believe Randall can do just as Mauck did last season. Keep LSU from losing games and do just enough on offense with the pass game that it will open up the run and playaction, and yes he is dangerous running the ball. Just ask Texas.
We've learned from Matt Mauck that the QB in Saban's/Jimbo's system does not have to be a superstar for the team to perform well. With our offensive line and RB stable, we do not need Randall to throw 35 times a game. What we need more than anything is a LEADER, both on and off the field. From what I've read, it sounds like Randall has stepped into this leadership role. If so, he should be well suited to the task given him.
He threw the ball, but I would say Devery Henderson was more responsible for it. I have full confidence in Randall. In his limited action last year, his numbers were similar to Maucks, I believe. TD:INT ratio, rating, completion percentage, etc.
Marcus R will do fine he has tons of talent around him. Get a big lead and let the young guns get some reps.....
