I was reading this threads debate about health care, though it was unnecessarily mean spirited and insulting, still the issues were being discussed. Opinions ranged from; laissez faire-only the strongest survive, to socialistic-every citizen has a right. From my view both opinions are valid, truth is, it's a tricky situation we're in, it's easy to speak in broad simplistic terms, but when it comes to actually setting a course of action, like President Trump said, "Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated". I don't know what should be done,.. socialized universal care would be monolithic, and removes most impetus for research and development,.. on the other hand, there's no denying health care today is way too expensive, and the medical and pharmaceutical industries are just gouging the fuck out of America,.. as LSUpride123 said it's a "Shitty system all around". Rex makes purposely inflammatory statements complete with insults, he tries to get your goat just for the fun of it,.. he deserves what he gets in return, but Kikicaca, per usual, only adds shit to the fire,.. so I threw the flag,.. caca, 15 yards,.. piling on.
Good post. You highlight an important part. Onces healthcare is controlled by the government, I cannot reasonably see advancements being made at the pace they are. Just with stem-cell research, I can only hope to have new knees in 30 years! My issues is that at a moral level, yes I want to take care of everyone that whats to take care of me. Though that is the problem. We all just do not have the capacity to care about everyone and everything. That is why I feel the best solution is to have each STATE decide is best course of action with regards to the poor. Because that is what the issue is, taking care of the poor.
Healthcare PAYMENTS would be controlled by the government, not the entire medical industry. There would still be medical equipment and pharmaceutical competition. Oh, baloney. We have the world's strongest economy and the rest of the world manages to do it. Furthermore, why wouldn't you make the same argument for military spending, where we just about spend as much as the rest of the world combined?
You dont need to say it again. I already know you are stupid. I mean fuck, why not let government control all prices. Shouldn't everyone have a nice home? Nice homes for everyone! No the rest of the world doesn't manage to do healthcare better. Its been debunked. we have have the BEST CARE period. As fucked up as it is. YOU just dont like that the more money you have, the better care you get. I have not a clue why you think the military and healthcare belong in the same conversation. Make a point.
Bullshit. The World Health Organization rates our system only about the 40th in the world, and our life expectancies are 43rd. It should be obvious that overspending on one aspect of government could be applied instead to other areas. We can afford universal healthcare coverage if we prioritize appropriately.
I dont care what their ranking is. Go wait in line for care in the UK if you think its so much better. Life expectancy has everything to do with culture and Americans just being fat asses. Not the health system as a whole. Again, I already knew you were stupid. That study you cited puts 1/4 weighting on that factor alone. Simply put, other countries cant "afford" to be fat. If you want leading edge healthcare with technology, you want it in the US.
If you'd venture anywhere outside of Faux News for your information you'd understand how silly you sound. The UK is so proud of their NHS that they made it a central part of their opening ceremonies at the London Olympics. And I'll say this: the wait for a poor person in the USA who doesn't have the means to pay for his healthcare is INFINITELY longer than anybody's in England.
