Les Miles will never beat Nick Saban again, therefore LSU will never win the West

I think Smart has him figured out at this point enough to beat as well.

I've talked to Coach Miles about the kind of feelings y'all have after the annual beatdown by Alabama. The truth is, Coach Miles spends less time preparing his team each week than you folks do watching, reading about, and posting messages about the Tigers. And he's a multimillionaire who couldn't care less what y'all think. Tonight he'll sleep well in Egyptian-imported satin sheets, while you folks toss and turn about the loss and something that somebody wrote in this forum.

    Sincerely,
    Curley H.

Miles is now 3-7 vs Saban, including 1/9/12 and as we all know by now, it's 5 straight losses. Miles did win the 2 games vs Bama pre-Saban, so overall 5-7 vs Bama. I didn't do the research, but I don't think any other coaches have beaten Saban 3 times, not that it's any consolation.

Regarding this recent futility, you have to go back to the Cholly Mac era to see something similar. Mac had losing streaks of 5 games (1964-68) and 9 games (1971-79) to Bama. That latter streak continued to a grand total of 11 straight losses after Jerry Stovall took over. I suppose you could argue that not beating Bama is what ultimately did Cholly Mac in, although after 18 years as HC, it was probably time for him to go.

Hard to believe that LSU lost only 4 straight to Bama over the Mike Archer/Curly Hallman years.

It's extremely frustrating that this current streak has gotten to where it is. I won't rehash all the games since the 9-6 LSU win in 2011, other than to say that the 2012 and 2014 games in Tiger Stadium should have been LSU wins, but for the now infamous late game Chavis defenses.

The question is -- what will it take for LSU to get this monkey off its back? Miles has never been able to avenge that championship game loss. It would certainly appear that Bama is in LSU's head ("captain obvious" post of the day).

It's gonna take a few years for Orgeron to start getting LSU's defensive line back to where it's used to being, that's a big deal. But we will continue to try and fit spread qb's in a pro style system and fail miserably at it. Sure LSU will beat most of the teams on its schedule, but not the ones that matter.
