Actually he was being serious, and only cracked a smile when the entire room started laughing. I really don't think he meant it to be funny.
You are right on this. He is someone who can talk about anything socially (unlike Saban who only talks about football). The owner of Ruffino gave these assessments about the two coaches who were patrons at his restaurant.
Me too!! CLM is quite a character. He has busted on R-Kansas, USC's "easy route to the NC game", and our new "f/n rival -Bama" ... And he's "not talking about jobs" ...."not even turning one eye to another opportunity" He showed his true passion for his players, program, etc with this one.... "I love this team .... and won't ever do anything to hurt it!" Not sure if I got this quote right, but it left a really good impression on me. :milesmic:
Yes, he said exactly what was on his mind at the time (not jokingly), but prob realized the implications of his statement when the audience started laughing.
Yeah, thats what I've heard. When I was in high school my coach would go to LSU's coaching camp every year and he definitely favored Miles over Saban from a personality standpoint.
OK, it's time for me to officially HIJACK this thread .... CLM is our coach. He's the MAN!!! He is 33-6 and we're in the National Championship game. He chose LSU over his Alma mater - which is POWERHOUSE MICHIGAN. He is quotable, funny, passionate and either he's gutsy or crazy. I can't figure which, but I will refer to it as "Lesticles" from this point forward. Who else would we want leading this program??? Has there ever been a more exciting season that 2007 for the LSU Fighting Tigers??? DO YOU FEEL ME??? :miles:
