Les Miles press conference on in a few minutes

Apparently I'm a Gump because I like Les Miles. I guess the thinking is I want Miles to stay so Alabama can continue to beat LSU.

I hate the way this whole thing makes us look. It makes us look like a bunch of crying bitches. How many of us ragged on Nebraska for getting rid of Frank Solich or laughed at Tennessee for years after they got rid of Fulmer. Nationally we look like a bunch of spoiled babies for wanting a guy that has been a success for so long gone. From the outside looking in, all everyone can see is a bunch of spoiled brats. What they don't see is the unwillingness to change an archaic offense. The decline in the SEC over the past 4 seasons, the inability to be a player in the West since 2011 with top 5 recruiting classes, I think the thing that most of us wanted is to see Les succeed in getting us back to where we need to be. I guess that makes me a Gump because I wanted to see a guy who has been a great guy, great representative for us, be able to fix it instead of going out like this.

if this doesn't play out fast with a positive outcome we'll start to look like Auburn. Not good.

 

I don't think this is going to happen quick. I also don't think LSU is going to be able to raid a top notch program for their HC. Alleva better be doing his homework on his backup list. He may just get extremely lucky, because none of the names on list #1 sound all that great and there already some young guns that are going to be good.

It also doesn't matter what we look like as long as we end up with a quality coach.

 

Then we are in deep, deep shit. If Alleva doesn't have Jimbo in his back pocket, then Alleva, the TAF, & the BOS will fuck it up beyond recognition/repair.

 

Not only do I believe Jimbo is not in their back pocket, I don't believe they get him. I'm not worried about that, because I think they can do better. But I dont trust Alleva to have brains enough to pull it off. He seems hell bent on getting a HC from a big program. If we end up with Mullen I won't be renewing my tickets after 23 years, I'll watch that disaster on tv.

 

Because this is happening so fast I believe all the cards are in place. I think Jimbo is a done deal.

 

If we can't get Fisher, I'd grab Tom Herman.
