Didnt hear too much bitching when he went on 4th down multiple times against Florida a few years ago and won. Personally I'd like to see better clock management, but still keep the certain unothordoxy and mad hatterness that keeps him unpredictable.
Amen Should have done that with lee in game play after pass inter. call. If it didn't work do it again. No need for jj. Keep in recievers and spread the field with jl in. Make them cover for pass and send ridley to the left. Too simple for crowton. He has to play mr smart guy with complex plays. Should have told lee give it to ridley until you score. Now go win the game
Sure, but we haven't seen the unpredictable Hatter in two seasons. You can say it's because of personnel all you want but that can't be the case since he's had nothing but top ten recruiting classes. He's lost his edge and has become predictable. Also, even if it was Crowton who only sent in one play, Miles has a headset on and should have realized such.
miles did have the habit of taking the foot of the pedal and letting teams back into games, including blowing a large lead to texas in which texas won. but i dont ever remember gaffs like the clock management debacles.
cmon izzy. you think miles called to sub 3 wr's when he had a big package in?? i understand your anti boner for miles but all of the plays at the end of the game reeked of the wiz.
Every coach has his strengths & weaknesses. It's clear that managing the clock is Miles' most glaring weakness. That is fine as long as he has someone to do it. With the little coaching I've done, that happens to be mine too. I went into games with a well thought out plan but had a hard time adjusting- but that's why I made sure I had someone next to me who was...and I listened. To me Miles brings a lot of other great qualities he just needs to identify someone on staff to pick up his slack in that department and give them the green light.
