Well, that excuse for the 2010 class might work but they are way way over for the 2011 class and they don't look like they are going to stop. What's the excuse going to be next year, whoops we don't know how to count? Not liking this a bit.
Just someone trying to use a different angle with different ammunition for the recruiting wars. The troubles we have been going thru over the past 2 seasons have been played to death and haven't slowed our recruiting down even a little, so making the practice of over signing and Miles out to be a monster for doing it, is an angle that hasn't been played out yet. We are no different than any other program. They all over sign a few just to cover their butts. The coaches have to hedge their numbers in case recruits don't get cleared to actually play or make it to campus. If the coaches were just signing the exact numbers they are required to and a couple of the recruits don't qualify, leaving us short, fans would be all over them for not having the necessary depth. It's a no win situation and unfortunately sometimes the kids get left out in the cold. A price they are probably well aware of when they make their decisions to attend a particular school.
Sorry y'all. I just added the link. Here it is again: Bad guys utilize over-signing, and it has to stop - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com Guess I was so fired up that I forgot to put it. I almost sent this writer an email....then I realized that he wants people to read his bullshiit column and he'd probably embrace it.
The author, Gregg Doyel, is a Florida Gator alum. Gregg Doyel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I wonder why he didn't slam Urban Meyer, who also signed more than 25 for the 2010 class (and the 2006 class, and the 2007 class). But yeah, according to oversigning.com, these programs all signed more than 25 for the 2010 class. The author only slammed the ones in bold, Alabama, LSU, and Miami. He also slammed Houston Nutt, who didn't even over-sign in the 2010 recruiting class (although he did before that). 2010 class -- over 25 signed 34 -- Troy 32 -- Auburn 31 -- Washington 29 -- Oklahoma 29 -- Syracuse 29 -- Alabama 29 -- LSU 28 -- North Carolina 28 -- Miami 28 -- Iowa State 27 -- Florida 27 -- Michigan 27 -- Arizona State 27 -- Oklahoma State 27 -- Louisville 26 -- Miss State 26 -- Kentucky Recruiting Numbers Oversigning.com
Re: "Les Miles is a bad guy" (link added) Well the guy is getting exactly what he wanted, which is for a bunch of angry fans to visit his page and bring in revenue. The LSU fan base is a good one to pick on if these are your motives....
Re: "Les Miles is a bad guy" (link added) Yes. Why bring this garbage to an LSU board that our recruits might read.
Re: "Les Miles is a bad guy" (link added) B/c that's what we do, homeboy. We discuss LSU football. I can assure you, pal, that this thread will not scare off any recruits. :dis:

Re: "Les Miles is a bad guy" (link added) John, stop posting those numbers. You are going to scare away recruits from all of those schools.
