After the Peach Bowl Les Miles speech when receiving the trophy was pretty cool (LSU HAS THE GREATEST FANS IN THE NATION) ......Not sure if he meant it or just kissing ass hahaha......Of course you can tell that i live in Oklahoma so a lot of OSU and even OU fans ask me how i like him. I tell everyone i like him. They seem to get mad over the gesture...the OSU fans down him for leaving and the OU fans down him cause he whipped thier ass half the time with not even a 1/4 of the talent that OU has.

    Congratulation TIGERS!!!! and LES MILES!!!

    Best post of the thread!

I have been neither a Miles basher, nor Miles lover. I think it takes at least a season to judge, maybe 2. My approach has been to "give him a fair chance". I was bunged after Tenn., really bunged! But I was proud and happy after Fla., Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arky. I was perplexed after the SECCG, bunged again. I am exstatic after the Peach Bowl victory. With the aforementioned adversity, for a first year head coach, GREAT JOB overall!!! Add what appears to be an excellent recruiting class shaping up, and the program appears to be on sound footing and in good hands.

The bashing was greatly overdone, and in my continuing opinion, detrimental to our program. All the bashers should step forward and eat their crow.

Then we can come together as fans again, and maybe everyone enjoy the board and each other a bit more this year.

Let's face it--unless Les Miles wins a national championship he will always be thought of as not as good as Nick Saban, even though his showing this year was spectacular and no one seriously can say that the talent we had basically coached themselves to this record.

Les Miles is in the unenviable position of having followed one of the highest profile, highest achieving coaches in LSU history and therefore his huge achievements are being dissected. People are "looking behind" the score to complain about how we got there. I say good teams win ugly, and the only thing for fans to do after a win is be happy. After a loss is something different, but that only happened twice this year, both totally understandable when you consider the surrounding circumstances--Katrina's forcing a Monday night game, the SECCG occurring on the team's 11th straight game.

:geauxtige  Les Miles deserves a hallowed place in LSU history already even if he never wins another game. He walked into a hornet's nest, got the worst natural disaster in U.S. history dumped on him, and still finished by beating a perennial power program in a game on prime time national TV. Way to go, Les! GEAUX TIGERS!!LSU! :)

I don't expect Miles to win a National Championship. It would be nice, but considering the need for the stars to line up just so, not winning a National Championship would be acceptable.

What I have trouble accepting is our offense looking like complete crap all season, minus this final game. Win or lose, I expect us to be more competitive on offense. The defense was excellent and won us a ton of games, and they get big time credit from me for that. And sure, Les Miles gets credit for that half of the equation. But in a year when the SEC is lower than it has been or will be in quite some time, with a decent offense we could have gone undefeated.

I'm not saying fire the man, hell, I feel the season has been a success with the big time bowl win, but nothing you say will change how I feel about our offensive performance this season. Through it all I will remain a Tiger fan, and I'm grateful for a board such as this to voice my opinions.

I'm giving Miles time, and time will tell where he belongs in the annals of LSU history. Here's to hoping he goes down as one of the greatest coaches in LSU history. I believe he could very well grow into that.

PS - And yes, that Miami win will go down as one of LSU's greatest wins of all times.
