So tell me Shane, if Miles is responsible for the O's fuck ups who is responsible for the positive performance? You have to give credit to someone because the Tiger's O certainly had some positive plays. Who is responsible for the game plan that had us holdthe ball for 39 minutes and gain over 400 yards on the #1 D in the country. The team that DOUBLED the offensive production the gumps had allowed previously? Who made the calls that had us convert 10 out of 20 3rd downs? In your eyes it can't be Les because he is too stupid and stubborn. So did the players do it on their own? Wh Get real and get a clue you take the positive with the negative. It would have been a team win and it was a TEAM loss. There is room for praise and criticism for all. Responsibility is Les's because he is HC but breakdown and analysis doesn't place all the blame on one set of decisions while ignoring the rest. You and Saint and Eliminator and HeLlsfury and others seem to ignore everything that counters your hate of Miles and focus only on what you can use to bolster your argument. Your lack of perspective invalidates your opinions.
Dum-Dum. It takes a special person to exalt miles while blaming the chief for this loss. It's cute you and yours came up with this and convinced yourself otherwise. Going into a prevent after stifling mccarron all night. Somewhat excusable. Making 10 gaffes on offense that anyone whos watched high school level, foorball shouldn't make can see. If you want me to list them I can do so but people with eyesight already know. Not excusable. Les admitted he f'd this one up in his own special way. Many knew it may happen but had hope it wouldn't. Those kids almost won in spite of it. It takes a special and deluded person to concoct another reasoning. I bet if you ask Stacey, who normally has her head buried deep into miles' hat so to speak could even clear this one up for you. I notice she's not defending him yet talking about sabans nose issues, which kinda tells me she gets it. This was another les miles special. Sure he gets credit for their preparation and motivation. But once again he needs to stay out of the mix when the game is evolving in our favor. He can't help himself however. Even the apologists can see this. It's not good and cost us the biggest game of the year. But I guess it's time to move on. Nah who am I kidding.
It was great to see the offense clicking - this is what we thought we would get out of Mettenberger. Hope it continues and we build on this. With play like this out of Mettenberger, we are hard to beat. I'll say this: it was new to everyone, even Les hasn't seen good QB play for... many years (we saw decent QB play early last year, but Lee got benched after while because Les wanted a mobile QB and maybe Lee had a bad attitude). If we play like this for 60 minutes, I don't think Les feels the need to call wacky "Hat" plays. And as enfuriating as Les can be, the season is still salvagable. Next season could be a legit NC year.
The offense will be consistently Inconsistent. That's why you will look back on this one and probably see its the best mett will play. And yet in a loss. Painful.
No, The Chief is one of the best in the business, but that "prevent defense" lost the game for us. The TD was a blown coverage and hard to put on Chavis, but for the first time this season the defense let the offense down.
Relying on the defense cost us. You can only do that so many times. But all the out of touch calls came home to roost. You can't make that many boneheaded calls against the #1 ranked team wo it biting you in the ass. And that it did.
As a team this LSU team has a bad habit , letting the other team score late in the game . Is that from playing it safe , or not thinking ?? On the field.
After giving up a TD drive of less than a minute with a prevent defense to end the first half you would think they would have tried something different to end the second half. I was really really disappointed in the call to go from playing a defense that had held Bama scoreless in the second half to a defense that had failed miserably the last time it was used in the very same game. However, the overall defensive performance was outstanding. Bama didn't deserve the gift they were given at the end.
I agree that Chief let us down. But Miles and Stud didnt help. LSU was throwing the ball at will on third downs. Yet, at the most crucial time when LSU could have basically iced the game they get conservative. Alleman has not kicked well this year, despite that Miles is putting all his money on a long FG attempt w a shakey kicker? LSU should have thrown the ball, like Herm Edwards said, you play to win the game.
Uhhh they lost! All the other stuff just makes u feel good about losing. Any bets how many times we see the pic showing Miles cultivating his inner ear?
