Well I wanted the Warecat to run Ford to the outside, but I would have liked Hill straight up the middle also.
Let's also not forget that the offense in the first half didn't look much different than it has all season. Mett overthrowing open receivers, receivers dropping catchable balls. The offense didn't start clicking until the second half. Miles made some big mistakes tonight, but its not all on him.
mostly dropped balls in first half, but our guys showed grit and made some remarkable catches too. it wasn't the players that cost us this game, they just had a little better coaching. just so happened it was at the critical points of the game.
No, I'm not out to point fingers at any one, two or five players. And you always give 20 year old kids more slack than a 50 year old guy who is coaching for a living. The thing to remember is, we were up against an elite opponent tonight. Bama is not the kind of team that you can play lackluster for 30 minutes and stellar for the other 30 minutes and expect to come away with a win. I'm very disappointed right now, but its certainly not the feeling of January 9th. We came to play tonight. Les made some mistakes and the kids made some mistakes. And, as usual, Bama got a little home-cooking, even on the road. Add it all up, and it leaves us coming up a little short. I'm sure the "Fire Les" crowd is ready to kick off another rally, but its really not the night for it.
In no way should anyone say fire Les, but it's hard to defend his decision making, and Chavis' end of game defense. That's 3 times now in huge SEC games we have just let a team march right down the field in 6 or so plays and score on us at the end. I'm proud of LSU, I'd rather be a tiger with a loss than a gump with a win any day.
That play was doomed from the snap...because of the snap. if there was a good center to quarterback exchange you would have seen something diferent. As it was Ware tried to make what he could from a busted play to no avai.
I just can't figure out why you don't put your trust in the guy who has shown he has IT, and is on fire, but play for a career long field goal.
