clearly les is confused. i wouldnt read too much into it though. he often talks in tongues and has no idea what hes saying or doing. he likely doesnt even remember saying he wanted the spike.
But it is when you are confused that your true instincts should kick in...all he would have had to say was "WE really screwed this one up" or "It was clear WE need to practice our end of game play calling and execution"................. instead he chose self preservation.
les has never been able to complete a sentence. he was so rattled he was visually shaking on camera. i feel bad for the fella. will be almost impossible to shake this. he was exposed as clueless in game management that we always feared. its not often you get a chance to see proof a coach is lost. even the supporters cant debate this one any longer. i still think he has no idea what he did or what happened that last 30 seconds.
I'm disappointed to the point of heartbreak and total stunned silence about this whole thing. I just really don't know what to think. But I've learned over the years that no amount of "What If" will make me feel better, and it certainly won't change anything. Terrible, stupid, inexcusable mistakes were made. But it's over. It's not going to get any better by picking at it. You've got to let go of the "What Ifs". They're meaningless. And they'll kill you. :geaux:
This is all correct. I have no clue as to why he didn't know what happened in the last 30 seconds. I was on the phone with my mom, and we were calling the plays that should have been run. I thought my dad and my uncle were going to break the tv, hearing them raving in the background. Of course, it's as my dad said minutes after the abomination ended, "This is the worst display of coaching I've ever seen. For the entire game--not just the last series."
it helps many of the whackos to vent. its harmless. unfortunately its going to linger for his tenure like every other play call and irrelevant situation.
