1. I remembered that day in December a couple of years ago when Mr. Saban decided to bail on us for the Dolphins. I thought then that LSU was doomed. That there was no way that we could get another Coach of Saban quality and or character, well was I so wrong we got one better in Les Miles.

    After last years Hurricanes, bouncing back after the Tennessee game and then the awesome Peach Bowl I knew Coach Miles was the real deal even with all of his quirks. The more I saw of him this year I knew he was a great coach that had great character and integrity that was able to relate to his players, staff and the LSU fans as well as being sincere and warm, unlike Saban. And his this year just solidified it for me. I have seen Coach Miles grow and flourish with his players and staff as they have become a family. He is a grade A coach.:thumb:

    Once Mr. Saban was gone I have never really have wanted him back at LSU for any reason. I just thought it was really crappy what he did to us at the time that he did it to us and how it was done. :angryfire I thought that he could have waited until after the bowl season. I lost all respect for him and now well…...he is Bammas problem.

    Thanks to all the coaches and players that helped make this a great season and bowl game. I think that Coach Miles has grown into a fine LSU coach that wants what is best for his team and the Fans!

    So how many days until next football season.

  2. Man, no kidding. You wouldn't think that you'd still have to point that out to people. The fact that LSU never had back-to-back 10-win (or 11-win, thank you very much) seasons before '06 wasn't because our schedule used to consist of top-tier teams every week.
  3. I don't come to snap decisions. When Saban left and Miles was hired, some were quick to jump off the ship and say Miles would bring us to 6-5 records quickly. I didn't know much about Les, my advice was let's wait and see. No need to walk the plank before he coaches a game.

    After the Tenn. game last year, I said give the man a chance. Our pass defense was bad, corners playing too far off the receivers and soft. I said it was a correctable mistake, and Pelini had a new system for the kids to learn. LSU came back and beat Fla., Aub. and Bama, and made it to the SECCG and destroyed Miami.

    This year, very good year. I was disappointed in the run game, and wish we'd have played Scott and Williams more, but we won a lot. Man, our passing game is the best I've seen in Tiger Town in a while, better than Rohan to Josh Reed. We're gonna miss JaMarcus to Dwayne, Buster and Early. But I'll tell you, Les didn't lose to Auburn or Fla. by himself. Young players made mistakes out there.

    I said early on it would take two years to fairly judge Les. Two years has gone by. Les is a VERY good coach. He assembled a great staff, and keeping Jimbo has been a feat. Hiring Peline was a masterful stroke, IMO. Les has recruited excellent classes.

    We have a coach who may not be as magnetic as a rock star, but he's got a steel rod up his spine, he has a good personality and he has good character. We're in good hands, and all Tiger fans need to get on board and support Les and our program. We need to get together on this.

    We've had the time, we can see his body of work. Perfection, no. There is room for improvement. Nobody is perfect.

    My 2 year assessment of Les Miles, I give him an "A". Look at the record, look at the roster for next year.

    Geaux Les, and Geaux Tigers!!!
  4. What a difference a year makes! You have no idea how good it is to sign onto this site and finally see good things said about LM. I agree he doesn't have the carisma but, he has a style of his own and I'm proud that he's here and hope he stays for a long time.
  5. And you know after UM fires Lloyd Carr (it's going to happen..you can't stay at UM constantly losing to OSU and bowl games)........Les is going to be their first choice.

    I think there is a 65% chance he declines it. Yeah it's an awesome thing to coach your Alma Mater, but I sensed something last night when he was talking about Louisiana, LSU, and New Orleans.

    We'll see...

    Oh and stop being obsessed with that. Why would we go for some 3-year coach drifter when we've had a stable coach for 40 years? Nick Saban is the last thing we and anyone else wants (but Bama and ND, I bet).

    Everytime he breaks a contract, his stock goes down.
  6. Yeah but each time his salary keeps going up.......go figure?? :confused:
  7. Always have and always will support Les Miles.:geauxtige

    Some fans have really just found out how special of a Coach we have, very few will still hate. The point is he is OUR coach
    and I'm damn glad we have him.....................

    :laflagwav
  8. chuga chuga chuga...hear comes the Les Miles train...everyone get on board!...chuga

    chuga chuga... who is that on the tracks?...ah it's Ol' Saint Nick...chuga chuga chuga!

    Keep on Truckin' Les
  9. There was a poster held up at the game and pictured in the "Times-Picayune" the read:

    "Saban = $40 Mil
    MILES = INTEGRITY
    LOYALTY= PriceLESS"

    Although intended to solicit a laugh or two, the poster illuminates the drastic difference between Miles and Saban. The negative press that Saban is now getting further serves to illuminate the very important character differences that exist between Miles and Saban. Make no mistake about it, as LSU fans we are very fortunate to have Miles as our coach.

    For the last two years there have been constant comparisons of Miles to Saban.....with all due respect to Saban, considering all the negative press Saban has generated for himself (not to mention being called "greasy, dishonorable, coward, weasel, loser, failure, gasbag, liar, fraud, hypocrite, ameteur, quitter, snake-oil salesman), any future attempt to compare Miles to Saban would be an insult. Miles is no Saban and that is a good thing!

    Congratulations Les and all of the LSU players.... job well done! I, personally, have thoroughly enjoyed the last two years of football and can only wait with anxious anticipation for next year when LSU makes a run at the National Championship under the direction and leadership of Les Miles.

  10. Miles is a coach that wants to stay in college and has no intensions of becoming an NFL head coach.

    The guy is likeable, truely cares about his players' lives outside of football and wants them to graduate and he's proven to be better than just a "good" recruiter.

    No, Miles didn't build LSU to where we were 2 years ago when he took over, but he's definately doing anything to run us off the course that we've been on since '02.
