Personnel decisions in the game are made by position coaches. I can believe Crowton won't play shepard if he can't get the system. I've seen porter pull tailbacks and chew their azz after missing blocks and what not.

one would hope it would take a lot more than one play to cause a rift.

this is football. assignment confusion happens all the time in the secondary. you get past it and you move on. if there's really a rift about that one play, then there's probably something deeper than that going on.

now if this has been an all year thing, peterson on jones because he often is not there in coverage help then maybe. maybe this is an alpha dog thing. but i just can't believe it's from one play (that in itself turned out ok anyway)

unless les made a promise to shep that he would play somewhere. i can see him being upset shep not getting playing time if that is the case.

but there are so many if's, who knows what is really going on. i just want it straightened out so our offense isnt looking lost.

Crowton has 6 games to get things fixed or else he'll be fired. But he doesn't seem too concerned with what the national or local media say.

Heck, before the Florida game, Todd McShay did a 5-minute segment on ESPN breaking down the woes of the LSU offense. He was highly critical of the playcalling, the inability to get the ball to playmakers, the dreadful execution in the redzone, and the refusal to use Shepard consistently. He predicted, "If these trends don't change, the Tigers are going to lose big." He was right.

Crowton must have missed that segment. He must have also missed when Tim Brando called LSU's offense "the most inept offense for a 4th-ranked team in the history of college football."

Bottom line: Anybody with sense knows that LSU has a lot of talent on offense that's going to waste. Sure, Jefferson is limited because of his youth and inexperience. But good coaches coach around that with innovation and guts.

The Auburn game will give us a good indication of what Crowton's future will be at LSU. He's got two weeks to prepare. He needs to do it well or start packing his bags.:tigereye:

No your just sensationalizing with the quote, we lost by 10, essentially 3, if you take the phantom touchdown away.
    foh with that nonsense!

This is a bit more revealing about what Miles thought about the offense and playcalling.

Yes, the game was in doubt up until the last second! A nail-biter . . . in which one team's offense did not cross midfield the entire second half!

    The Tigers got dominated.

Try reality. It's good for you.
