Red is onpoint as usual. It's absolutely tragic that we put up with stuff like this. And I'm glad people are actually finally seeing what a crook Jindal really is. He is doing nothing more than advancing his career and is using LA as a step stool.

Anybody in their right mind should see how terrible this bill is.

The bill was written and sponsored by Democrats. In the senate of the 20 who voted for it only 6 were Republicans.

No one would oppose a modest pay raise. But this is not moderate pay raise. They tied it to the congressional salary. What in God's name does Congress have to do with it? If passed Louisiana will have one of the most expensive legislatures in the country and the most expensive in the South. I hope Jindal changes his mind and vetoes it, but it does not look like he has either the courage or integrity to do so.

I'm not willing to write the guy off just because of this but I am a huge jindal supporter and see this as a very scary step he has taken. I certainly will stop short of calling him a crook as you have but I do see him differently now. As I said before, he's sold his soul to the devil, now we have to find out if it was worth it. My personal opinion is that it's not.

Where's your criticism towards the democrat that has authored the bill and for the democrats who voted yes for it 2 to 1 over republicans?

Is it that the democratically controlled congress has a reputation of being so sleazy and expectations are so low it's not even worth criticizing?

Congress is one of 3 branches of government and it is responsible for this bill and it deserves just as much, if not more, criticism than Jindal.

If you think Jindal is a "crook" then you must think the democratically controlled congress is too.

What part of they all suck did you not read earlier. The buck stops with Jindal on this issue as he has the power to veto.

I'm glad to see the wonder boy doing wonderfully horrible things for this state. Boy his ethics reform is going good.. Ugh

That's right. Completely ignore the fact that it was essentially a Democratic sponsored bill voted on by Demos by a 2 to 1 margin. I condemn anyone who voted for it, Republican or Democrat, but let's not pretend that it's all the governor's fault. By the way, I sent a critical e-mail to the governor concerning his decision not to veto it.
