I like Glenn Beck, he seems to run a pretty objective show. A right lean no doubt but he will give it to the right if they screw it up. I like neal boortz as well but he just may be too much for some of you.:D

When we can mention Keith Olbermann or The Daily Show in the same discussion about news, then we obviously have a problem with the media.

As I mentioned before, ALL media have an agenda. There is no "fair and balanced" media in this country.

What I find interesting though is the fact that conservatives have made arguments against liberal bias in the media for years. Liberals rolled their eyes and said it wasn't true. Along comes the advent of Fox News and the popularity of consevative radio programs and all of the sudden we have liberals complaining about right-wing media.

It's amazing how liberals want EQUAL access to conservative programs yet try to pretend it's not needed elsewhere like NBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, PBS, or MSNBC. It must kill them that conservative radio programs are thriving yet Air America crashed and burned.

I respect O'Reilly a lot more than Limbaugh based on what I've heard from both of them.

If you want to easily understand why so-called liberal talk shows dont survive, listen to Air America. It has the worst programming, the worst hosts and some of the most outrageous topics imaginable. Its pretty easy to figure out why few advertisers will spend money supporting that garbage and few listeners tune it in.

i am mostly surprised that CSPAN "knowledge" was so low. i didnt know many stupid people could watch it.

but this study is worthless. you cant make reliable conclusions based on three questions. however, mostly what this shows is that americans are either stupid or ignorant since the average american could only answer 24% of these 3 questions----

"The three questions asked respondents which party has a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives (Republicans); the name of the current U.S. Secretary of State (Condoleezza Rice); the name of the current president of Russia (Vladimir Putin). See Section VI, "Other Findings," for further analysis of the public's knowledge of these items."

its a shame these people determine elections.

"Media" is too a broad term to pigeonhole. Conservatives dominate talk radio and political books. Liberals dominate movies and TV. Moderates dominate public radio and news magazines. Newspapers and blogsites are all over the political map.

Actually, they have someone on from the left and then completely and blatantly railroad them. It gives them the latitude to say that they 'presented both sides of the argument,' but the way that they treat the person expressing the opposing opinion is laughable at best. It's a very transparent facade, and really only serves to emphasize the fraudulence of Fox's 'Fair & Balanced' claim.

Without question, I also find Fox to be the most sensationalist of all news networks. They would have you believe that you will die if you don't tune into every one of their programs. I place them about one notch above the Cartoon Network.

That said, there isn't a single news network that I can stomach for more than 5 minutes. I try to tune into all of them to at least get my finger on the pulse of what's going on, but I quickly become too disgusted to take any of them seriously. It's just a conglomeration of self-important half-wits who are more focused on entertainment rather than presenting the news in a responsible fashion.

definitely, also too many people confuse "news" with "editorials".

CNN should get slammed for not reporting news events that make liberal policy look bad, but not because larry king has liberal views.

F&B is in the eye of the beholder. The only biased guy on Fox News is Hannity and he's balanced by Colmes. O'Reilly gets hammered but he's actually in the middle and praises/bashes both sides equally. What you are seeing, Mastermind, is a network that doesn't devote itself to liberal/Democrat causes and in your mind that's not fair when in fact they are the only ones out there that are fair. You are just not used to seeing BOTH sides.

I don't like Boortz and Glen Beck is a pompous ass like the rest of them. I remember when he had Ron Paul on, Glen Beck nodded and agreed with most of what he said. A day or two later he was bashing Ron Paul. If you aren't going to man up and ask the tough questions face to face, everything you say loses credibility.

That said, Beck is more my taste than most and O'Reilly comes off at least genuine. The majority of mainstream republican hosts are scummy, IMO.
